The optic is for sure from a russian Armoured vehicle. I have seen similar fold down periscopes for copulas before.

Looks just like the commander's sight from a T72.

Edit - found this, it's from a PT91, aka the polish T72.

Bayonets. Tell him to pick up as many bayonets as he can find. I picked up a bunch of Pattern 1903 and Pattern 1907 bayonets there.

I'd suspect they're both Khyber Pass copies. And quite possibly not made anywhere near 1871. That hard hat has nothing to do with "Salah ad-Din" or anybody he knew. The eagle looks like it came off a flag pole.

A lot of that c@@p is knock off produced in small villages. Been there seen the stuff and guess what, it stayed there.... Knock off items that when you bring back to Canada can be confiscated at customs/traffic techs. If anything tell him that the true value is gem stones, rubies in particular, but beware of the gemstones that are small bits glued together with very good clarity.

The sight and some bayos are coming my way. We both have experience with the bazaars so it isnt that we dont know there are knock offs, I am just hoping the collective knowledge of CGN can spot the gems from the crap.
