Check out this site and see when they schedule the next one, usually have 1-2 in Winnipeg area a year.
 
No idea what the black badge course is :D That other site didn't have details :D

All I remember is the selkirk range mentionned needing holster training to carry holstered and firing from holster while at the range.

I'm no longer a member there (moved so it's too far) so I was looking for alternatives.

FYI don't even have a holster for anything I own :) but wanting to get one. So I thought I'd start with finding our if there is training around here :)
 
The Black Badge is a safety and rules course required to participate in IPSC matches in Canada. It covers drawing a loaded handgun from a holster, shooting on the move and other IPSC shooting skills.

The MDPL training is geared towards shooting IDPA. I'm not sure if there are any non sport training courses available.
 
Don't mean to hi-jack the thread but does anybody know of any matches in the Winnipeg area during January and February?

I'm currently in Portage la Prairie and will be for a few months so I'd figure I'd try and check out the local scene if possible.

IPSC or IDPA matches?
MDPL has 2 IDPA style winter matches ... I beleive first one is in January , 2nd in March, but not positive on dates.
Both are held at the Firing Line in Winnipeg .
Keep watching the mdpl.ca website for exact dates.

Sorry, should have specified. I'm an IDPA guy. I stumbled across the MDPL website so I'll make sure to keep an eye on it for match dates.
 
There should be a montly match at the Firing Line in Jan and Feb. Last time I check IPSC manitoba the schedule hadn't been posted yet but I'm sure details will be up soon.
