Quick summary of the weather and for complete match results pls check BCRA website later for full results. My first BC Championship experience I would have to say it is a very interesting shooting format filled with great people to talk to.
Day one rain in the morning a few equipment failures and blown primers on the line this helped us keep the match on due to the extreme fire warning. Water everywhere and light wind. Annette from WA state only dropped one point in TR amazing shooting. F-O and FTR had a few challenges. Blew my first match and drop to many points at 300. Pulled it together for the next 300m match and only dropped one and I only dropped a point at 500 for two matches so I'm happy. Shot 300, 400 and 500.
Day two overcast skies w/ wind morning dew on the grass transitioning to sunny afternoon. Annette is creaming the competition in TR at the end of the day. FO and FTR guys are doing good Brent is leading the pack in FO and a Dog fight between Chris and Brian in FTR. Shooting matches at 300, 500 and 600m. Start of international team match. For F-class there was three teams, one FTR and two FO shooters per team. My team finish the day in third, shooting 300m.
Day Three sunny skies and regular Vokes range conditions left to right wind in the Morning transitioning to right to left, left to right wind for the rest of the day. Annette and Gary (former US Team Palma coach) has caught up only one point separate the two shooters. My team gain ground due to some good shooting by my partners and good wind calls but still third on points. 400, 500 and 600m range.
Day Four Sunny skies similar conditions as the day before but more gust of wind coming thru. Gary from WA state won the Lt. Governor's grand aggs, Chris of BC won the Lt. Governor's for FTR and Barry of BC won the Lt. Governor's for FO. My team came back to shoot a good third round and got silver badges for the team shoot. 600m all day.
It was a great experience very well organized and the target pullers did a good job.
Brent won most of the medallions and trophies for the Championship in FO. Chris and Brian (Canadian FTR Team member to raton) won the majority of the match trophies and medallions. I was able to eek out one match win on count back.
Sorry don't have that many photos.
Lt. Gov winner for FTR and FO
FO Barry getting his gold badge and sash from Her Honour Lt. Gov.
FTR Chris getting his gold badge and sash from Her Honour Lt. Gov.
FO, FTR and TR Lt. Gov. winners.
US team TR receiving one of their many awards for TR.
Only match I won for the tournament and the last match of the day the George Farquharson at 600m. Silver international team badge and a Bronze badge for the tournament.
Gun ####.
It was a lot of fun and I would encourage any F class gals and guys to attend and shoot this Championship at least once if not more. There were more quite a few Americans even some as far as LA California who made the trip. We definitely need more Canadian F-class guys on the line. It's 250 rounds is including sighters fun fun fun.
