BC Hunter who shot support dog fined and banned

What if someone veered into your lane while your driving to work? You could be killed and it'd be your fault for being in your lane while people weren't doing what they're supposed to.

Interesting point and something I chat about with my children from time to time. From my motorcycle days I learned to always look ahead, pay attention and plan an out in any circumstance a few steps ahead of any situation. 4-6 times over my life I've prevented head on fatal collisions while driving my car by always paying attention to what if;s and being a few steps ahead. Saved my but 10's of times on motorcycle. Once an astute someone else saved my life after I royally f'd up in my teens after a chemo treatment while riding my motorcycle.

If they hit me I would not blame anyone but myself in either situation.

It's obvious what you'd do.

I get what you’re saying Jaylegger and I’m sure many others do too. I’m sure the person who lost their dog in this incident finds little comfort in the fact that according to the law (and many here) they were entirely in the right.
