Trying to purchase a new licence on line the last few days as current one expires March 31. The website says not available, anyone know what's going on? Fee increase? NDP government not allowing anymore hunting in the province?
Just logged onto the site and brought up the purchase option for the general license with no trouble.

Do you need to renew your residency ?
"NDP government not allowing anymore hunting in the province?"
That's a bit of a stretch to assume isn't it?
Look at Boo's advice.

Just in case anyone wasn't already aware, you can update your residency credentials in store now. My LGS was able to do it for me last fall (I didn't even need it done yet, but it extended my credential for another 3 years)
For the last 40 years one has not been able to buy the following years hunting licence until after April 1 .
If you buy it online as the op obviously does, you can update it online, it is usually approved the same day or the next day.
100% incorrect.
BC residents have always been able to purchase a license in March for the next license year. Lots of people hunt opening morning for bears, and lots of us have never had a day of the year without a valid license.
Stop with the conspiracy theory.
You’ll give them ideas ...

Don’t forget to check you Electronic BCId when you go to buy your licence...by checking I mean that it is current and valid, otherwise that is the next hoop to jump through.

100% Correct
I used to sell hunting and fishing licences and the ministry always did the tag sales inventory before March so we could begin selling licenses and tags before the March31st deadline.
The booklets and tags got dated the day they were filled out and were the same year after year until the new online system began.
Now every 3 years we have to prove residency by physically attending a government agents office/BC Access/Frontline BC and proving residency with picture ID and a current utility bill which was what I think Rob was alluding to in the second part of his post.
