the garand is the only semi auto that does not have to be pinned at 5. will you throw a clip on the ground to make the ping so the deer will think your reloading and come out?
How many times ya plan on missing!?!
I could be wrong here, but I was under the impression that shotgun magazine restrictions are only for bird. You can have a full tube of buckshot when hunting deer. That's what I recall.
4It is unlawful to hunt or trap with a set gun or with a pump, repeating or auto
loading shotgun unless the magazine contains a plug that is incapable of holding
more than 2 cartridges. Where the use of a shotgun is allowed for hunting or
trapping big game, an unplugged shotgun holding more than 2 cartridges and firing
single projectiles only (slugs) may be used.
(h)with a pump, repeating or auto loading shotgun unless the magazine contains a plug that is incapable of removal except by disassembling the gun, and that makes the magazine incapable of holding more than 2 cartridges.
How many Lee Enfields (10 shot) have been hunted with .
Like these guys have all said: any legal rifle magazine is a legal hunting magazine in BC. Shotguns are limited to 2 round mag with any kind of shot. You also can't hunt with a pistol or anything that has a barrel less than 305mm.
Interesting to me is that the Wildlife act section 26(1)(h) is where the shotgun plug rule comes from; however, I don't see the "unless it's a slug for big game" in the actual legislation. The synopsis, which is supposed to be an easy to understand summary, certainly does say you can have an unplugged shotgun with slugs for big game. Maybe that is in another part of the Act and I missed it?
Very interesting!
I just took a quick look myself, and while I didn't read the whole thing I searched for "shotgun", "slug", and "projectile" and none of those terms provided me with an exception to the magazine limit.
That said, if you haven't read the wildlife act, I think a lawyer worth the money you're paying him would likely be able to convince a judge that the synopsis is a government produced document specifically intended to explain to the layman what is and is not allowed, and thus there is a lack of mens rea. Of course, I'm just some dude on the internet so take opinion is worth what you paid for it, and now that I've read the Wildlife Act that defense goes out the window.

(3) A person who hunts big game with a shotgun loaded with single-projectile ammunition is exempt from section 26 (1) (h) of the Act.
This is the part of the Wildlife Act that deals with plugs (26)(1)(h)
This is the part of the Hunting Regulations(17)(1.1)(3) that provide an exemption from the above
