Notice to Hunters - Changes are coming to Hunter Registration and the Limited Entry Hunting (LEH) Draw.
The Province will introduce a new online system for hunters in 2016, making it easier for you to register and apply for Limited Entry Hunting (LEH) draws. You can submit LEH applications online at home, or at a Service BC, FrontCounter BC, or vendor location. The online service will be available for the Fall 2016 LEH Draw. More information will be provided in the 2016-2017 Limited Entry Hunting Regulations Synopsis.

You can no longer purchase paper application forms for the Fall 2016 LEH Draw or the 2016 Special Sheep LEH Draw. Application forms for the Spring 2016 LEH Draw can be purchased only at the following locations:

All Service BC locations during regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Note: You do not need a hunter number or license to purchase an application form.
Italian Sporting Goods, 804 Renfrew Street, Vancouver
Reliable Gun & Tackle, 3227 Fraser Street, Vancouver
International Shooting Supplies, 14904 104th Avenue, Surrey
Wholesale Sports, 20175 Langley Bypass, Langley
Belles Sports, 33089 First Avenue, Mission

If you have already purchased application forms, you can use them for the Spring 2016 or Fall 2016 LEH Draw. After the Fall 2016 LEH Draw, paper application forms will NOT be accepted. For more information, see the frequently asked questions. You can also email the Fish and Wildlife Branch at HuntingTransformation@gov.bc.ca, or call 1-877-855-3222.

No hunters I have spoken to have hit on an LEH draw this year. These are guys putting in for multiple locations like I did. GOABC anyone.... Bueller, Bueller....

Multiple locations for the same species? That's their problem right there.

I know plenty of people who got LEH draws.

Thanks for the LEH news. I'm relatively new to hunting, and have never applied for an LEH, but am thinking about trying for LEH next year for mule does. This season I saw over 30 does, and only one buck (and that one wasn't legal). Anyone know what the odds are of greeting an LEH for mule does in MU8 in BC?

I hope it works better than the current freshwater lisence site works.
Went to renew it with last years angler # , which is supposed to be unique to me and used each year.... Doesn't match...ridiculous

Guess we'll see how this plays out.

You can download the LEH Synopsis at this site: ht tp://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/wildlife/hunting/resident/leh.html#Synopsis (remove the space in ht tp)

Find the species and then the region. The odds that are listed are from the prior year, but they give you an idea.

A new Synopsis will be available in the spring, for next year's LEH.

It's been since the early '90's since I lived in BC and did an LEH application...but even then I was concerned the low cost to apply , the lack of penalty for not following through if successful, and the multiple possibilities for hunting location lead to misuse by anti hunting groups...
If a number of people got together and spent the $3 each (at that time) they could blank out hunting opportunities in select areas. With on-line applications, is there follow-up that the system is being used properly or is there still the opportunity for anti-hunters to dominate any area of their selection?
