BC LEH results are in

Me and 3 friends, shared moose, individual mule deer, and some impossibly long odds on some Elk draws. No hits for us.

We did hit on moose last year though, so I wasn't expected much this year.

Group of 3 here, sadly no wins for us but that's ok as the money is going to a good cause.

Does LEH draw money go to a good cause? Most of tag/license sales money goes to general revenue, only a small portion is specifically earmarked for conservation, although I have no idea about the LEH application fees specifically.

Got an antlerless muley draw in 7-33....this is a slam dunk, as
I have access to a lot of farmland there.
Missed moose and Elk.....GOS, here I come! Dave.

I posed this question to the ministry over a decade ago. At some point in the early 90's I think...... All revenue collected for fishing licenses and hunting licenses, tags and LEH went to Provincial General Revenue. This allows politicians to redirect funds to thier pet projects and election promises while "conservation money" that used to be spent on habitat and studies.... you know... actual conservation work.
LEH is a broken system and I stopped supporting it 2 years ago.
Most of my hunting friends have stopped supporting it too.
We know a party of 6 hunters that get moose and elk draws nearly every year and these stories are common place it seems. Everyone seems to know a group of individuals who pull tags like they have leprechauns up thier @sses.
Enhanced odds is bullsh!t and the system is broken.
I would continue to support it if the LEH money actually went to projects that translated to more ungulates and healthier ecosystems for salmon and steelhead, crabs and shellfish.... halibut and ling cod..... I could go on.

it is the most important and the same for fines if it going to benefit the projects for ecosystems at large ...

Shared moose in the back yard with the family, going 5 for 5 on moose. This is the first year in ages we didn’t see a goat draw.

I asked about the environmental fees charged on products like tires, paint, batteries, etc, etc, etc, long ago. All went into general revenue. I doubt very much that has changed. Add in carbon taxes to that mix. I agree the LEH system is broken....almost to the point where I think its a rigged game. I no longer play that game.
