Sounds like a heck of an idea...seems if you travel you're more likely to get a draw.. I wonder if thats a case of economics? Keep raising the price of gas and watch the economic downturn in hunter travel. Last year's fuel bill for northern moose was $1,076.00.. The year before.. same hunt $618.00.

for those looking for Island Elk, where did you put in for?

I put in for 1st near gold river, Muchalot Lake, and 2nd, for antlerless up near sayward (14:1 odds so might be good)

none of you better have placed for there    grrrrr ;)

you'll get lost up there

I put in for the late season cow elk hunt in region 7, the bison hunt, and grizzly in 7-50. I think I have a chance for the elk the rest is remote. In fact so remote that if I hadn't put in for the new late elk hunt I probably wouldn't have entered for the others either the odds are just too long.

lol, well if I get it around Gold River we will have a guide apparently. A friend of my uncle who knows the area very well lives up there and would come along.

As for the Sayward area, I know my way around there generally and I doubtfully would be going into a place that far from the logging roads or main roads.
