Hey Everyone,
This will be sent out today on our other communication platforms, but there are some of you not following BC Precision Rifle on Facebook, or outside of our email list bcprecisionrifle@gmail.com . So I thought I'd share it here too!
Many of you have reached out to me and questioned when and if we'd have matches this year and I am sorry for not giving you a straight and solid answer. I am not here to make excuses, but I would like to apologize#for not having any matches in the first few months of the year like we had expected. Turns out that life gets in the way of shooting sometimes.
Nevertheless, with the current restrictions on travel and the concerns over US matches being postponed and shutdown entirely, it has forced us to start thinking about our own matches and shooting schedule. So far, we have three, confirmed matches on our schedule:
- 18 July - Heffley Creek Gun Club (in collaboration with the CRPS for a 22lr shoot on Sunday)
- 1 August - Nicola Valley Fish and Game Club (also in collaboration with the CRPS)
- 12 September - Heffley Creek Gun Club
Typically, April - June is the busiest time for US based matches, so we were hesitant to run matches in that time, as Dave and I would be completely burned out. Additionally, this year we were hoping to be part of the NWPRL PRS Club series, which would allow our shooters to shoot against and be ranked with the top shooters in the pacific Northwest, however, that is also not looking likely to happen due to some other challenges.
For now, I am reaching out to lower mainland ranges to see about the possibilities of us running more rimfire matches under the BCPRL22 banner this year. Additionally, pending on the border closures and rules up here, we may be running an earlier season match in April/May, most likely at the Nicola Valley Fish and Game Club in Merritt, BC. I will try to keep you all up to date as best I can through email (bcprecisionrifle@gmail.com), Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/BCPrecisionRifleLeague), Canadian Gunnutz (https://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/forumdisplay.php/441-Practical-Precision-Shooting) and Instagram (@bcprecisionrifle).
If you are not on our mailing list and would like to be, be sure to email me directly at the above email address.
Additionally, there have been some requests for training courses or just trainup sessions, and all of you that would be interested, please feel free to message me directly. I am not in a position where I feel that I am qualified to really teach a course, however, I don't mind going to the range with you, spending some time shooting and answering what questions I can!
Sorry for the long update, but as I said, this is overdue. Thanks for your patience and I hope we can all get out shooting again soon!
Josh
