so why isn't anyone talking about the fact that the match has been cancelled and is going to be moved?

Which match?
The one's I am not attending this year.....................:p

This explains the situation:

BCRA Members:

It is with regret that I am advising you that the General Vokes 28-29 April
shooting dates have been cancelled due to a new booking by three military
units for grenade training. This has affected the LMR Service Rifle
Championship and the # 2 Dust off Match:

I had a meeting with Peter Dobell, the LMR Chairman last evening and as a
result of decisions made, I am please to offer you a plan B for your
shooting competition and practise. I have attached the REVISED LMR Range
Schedule dated 19 April, 2007. I have attached the new revised schedule.
Please destroy the previous schedule. I have shown the changes in red on the
revised schedule and deleted the shooting dates prior to today. The major
changes are that a LMR Club 600 has been added for 2 and 3 May creating a
two day shoot, rain or shine as we purchased new canvas shelters. The LMR
Service Rifle Championship has been moved to 12 May and the CFC #1 Match has
been reduced from two days to one day on 13 May only.

The new revised LMR Service Rifle Championship entry form is attached.
Shooters entered for April 28 should confirm with me that you still wish to
enter on 12 May. An email will suffice. Those who booked a marker for 28
April MUST reconfirm your marker. Those who have paid early entry for 28
April and unable to shoot on 12 May will have to advise me so I can arrange
a refund. Now the good news. The new revised entry form has the early entry
date extended to 1 May. Also you may book a marker until 1 May for those who
still wish to. I remind you that the LMR Service Rifle Championship on 12
May begins at 0700 for briefing. No briefing - no shoot.

I hope you accept these changes that was necessary due to military training.
The LMR spends a lot of time with ASU to have reasonably firm dates for you
to plan your shooting schedule. It is with the same cooperation with ASU
that we have been able to revise the shooting schedule without seriously
affecting the amount of shooting.

Lastly, some of our shooting members do not have email addresses. Please
spread the contents of this email to them. We will also post this
information on the BCRA web site.
SKBY.

well to be fair to the BCRA it's not their fault that units have asked for the range.

Good think I had booked April 28th off work... I have to work the weekend of May 12. Also that puts it a bit close to the Kamloops and Provincals for driving over from Alberta.

I've booked time off for the BC provincials:dancingbanana:

We putting an Alberta team together?
Andrew, I have a copy I can get to you!

So I for see this:

Longshot first place
Then a few Albertians mixed in with few BC folks about 20 to 40 points below Longshot... the battle will be for second place? ;)

I might have to set my C7A3 Clone asside and pullout the high speed rig and handloads for this one. Though in truth I'm sure an off the shelf rifle and ammo can win if one gets in shape and practices, that is how longshot does it unless I'm misstaken.

I made up a cheat sheet for myself, and wanted to put it up here to confirm that this is how it runs in BC specifically:

#) distance/position/#shots/time

01) 200meter/prone/10+2shots/10+2min.
02) 200meter/kneel or squat/10+2shots/10x3sec.(10-20sec. interval)+2min.
03) 200meter/stand to sit/10+2shots/30sec.+2min.
04) 200>100meter run/stand/10shots/10x3sec.(10-20sec. interval)
05) 300meter/prone/10+2shots/10+2min.
06) 300meter/prone/10+2shots/10x3sec.(10-20sec. interval)+2min.
07) 300meter/stand to prone/10+2shots/30sec.+2min.
08) 300>200meter run/stand to kneel/10shots/5x10sec.(10-20sec. interval)
09) 500meter/prone/10+2shots/15min.
10) 500meter/stand to prone/10+2shots/5x15sec.(10-20sec. interval)+2min.
11) 500meter/stand to prone/10+2shots/30sec.+2min.
12) 500>100meter run/500prone,400sit,300prone,200sit,100stand/10shots/15sec.+4x50sec.

Is that correct?

I did my first SR on May 12. It was fun! I didnt do that great ( lots of mishap's!) and a bit of a change from TMSA in how things work in targets and scoring, so a bit of a learning curve for me! But i will go again for sure! I would love to shoot June 2-3 But i'm going to be away. But maybe next time!
The AR10T shoots nice but a little on the heavy side! I was surprised how well It shot at 500M ...Even with me on the trigger!
