A couple weeks ago I threw away a BC steel lips mag after about 650 rounds because the plastic that housed the steel portion of the magazine developed stress fractures all around and eventually the damn thing stopped feeding.

So today I was looking at another one that has about 450 rounds through it, and it is showing the same stress fractures.

WHAT THE F@CK man?

Screw these plastic pieces of ####e. I'm getting tactical inc mags from now on.

Anyone know a good source for them?

No I'm not ramboing them.

I can't explain wtf is going on... I thought maybe the bolt was hitting them but are no signs of impact anywhere.

The only thing I've noticed on the two that I own is that there was the occassional jam with the aftermarket VQ extended bolt handle. Switching it back to the factory bolt handle made them feed flawlessly again. Don't know why...

Did you contact them? it could be a QC issue.

i'll sell you my tactical inc mags for 500 dollars, lol

Matt, call the guys at Tactial Innovations: 208-267-1585. You can get four mags delivered to your door for about $150 usd - which is close to what you pay for the steel-lips anyways. I received mine in four business days.

Butler Creek is just so-so... I have one 25 rounder that I bought in 1998, and it has run flawlessly, with no signs of cracks ever since. I bought another one, which has not fed one round into my 10/22 since I bought it - The store test fired it fine in their rifle, so I can't blame them for not taking it back.

QC must be just a Tues to Thurs thing at Butler Creek.
