Hey fellow GunNutz,

Looking for some guidance for a first time turkey hunter. I was given some decoys for Christmas and figure that I would make an attempt to cross another animal off the bucket list. Can anyone give a little insight on the turkey population in the Okanagan area? I've heard that there is a lot near Oliver but haven't really met anyone with a lot of knowledge on Turkeys. Any tips are welcomed. Thanks for looking!

Haven't hunted Turkey out here myself yet, but have been researching it lots, and plan to this year. From what I have read, the south Okanagan and Kooteneys are the areas to concentrate on, lots of birds around Christina Lake area etc, a good place to read up on it is huntingbc.ca, in the upland forum but you will have to go back to some older posts, seems guys have stopped posting Turkey info,lol, probably getting sick of lower mainlanders hunting their birds :) good luck
