Hi Guys. I recently picked up a BCD 4 and at first glance it appeared to be a bolt M/M that bubba dropped into a Geha shotgun stock. Couldn't tell for sure though, not a lot of s/n's but the WaA's were all correct. When I removed the stock there was a x stamp just below the charger thumb cut out. The x is a similar size as the barrel s/n. The gun shows no other signs of Russian capture. Parts seem correct and metal has original finish. Is this x surely Russian or could it be from some other country? I know pictures would help but I can't right now. Sorry

The X may not be russian. Below the woodline there are lots of random markings and such. But without complete pics, very hard to say what you have.

I don't know many RC's that have Russian internal markings. Sometimes they would X-Out the serial number in the stock, but other than that the German stock makers had quite a few strange markings on the inside of stocks, including pencil markings, which are most often found under the butt plate.

I will be getting a sporterized bcd 4 to restore in the next week or two. I'll check to see if it has any similar markings. Is yours blued or phosphate finished?

I'll try to get a picture posted somehow this weekend but i havent done that before so no promises. The mark is stamped into the receiver just below the thumb cutout and it's blued which should be the norm for a four digit s/n in the n block. Unfortunately the bolt is from a 98AZ but at least it matches itself and its still in the white, untouched.
