BCG stuck in stag-10

Hi,

I have a JP ent. FMOS bcg. I have a MRA barrel.

When I close the bolt, it gets stuck in the barrel.

Any idea what's the problem?

I am not familliar with the ar platform.

The stag bcg works really well.

Have you removed the bolt from the carrier and tried to seat it in the barrel by hand. This may give you an idea where it may be binding. Other than that the only thing I can think of is tolerance stacking and you just happened to have a bolt at the maximum end and a barrel extension at the small end.
 
Use some grease on the lugs and see if it helps. When you say ''gets stuck", do you mean like you have to mortar the stock on the ground to unlock it, or it takes more force than 'normal' on the charging handle?

Lube is optimal, strenght required goes beyond what i can manage to pull on the charging handle. Have to ram (mortar) the rifle or use a screwdriver. Headspace?
 
Sounds like headspace. I had a similar issue with a Faxon + brownells bolt but the "stickiness" was just with a chambered round. I used a TINY amount of lapping compound on the lugs and after about 50 rounds it was totally fine and turned out to be quite accurate probably as a result of tight (just under minimum) headspace.
 
Get the bolt out your BCG and see how it feels by hand. You should be able to get the bolt to turn into the receiver extension by hand. If you're getting resistance, dry everything out and do some tests with sharpie on the bolt to try and see where the interference is. If you have go no-go gauges now would be a good time to use them too.

It gets stuck on an empty chamber, what lapping compound would you suggest?

Works fine with the stag bcg.

So, if anyone is interested,

I bought a full stag 10 rifle from arms east.

The JP BCG FMOS fits in there like a charm. Though the stag bcg fits really well in the mra barrel assembly.
