First from scratch AR build (MDI), but been playing with parts on multiple AR's for a couple years now.
Wanted to build to minimize recoil and spring noise.

18.6" 223 wylde barrel, rifle length gas (have)
Adjustable gas block (on order)
Brownells lightweight BCG (556) (on order IRG)
Armaspec SRS (the lightest is the carbine 3.3ounce) (have)
MRA rock solid brake (have)

From my knowledge these are all the parts that contribute to recoil and gas system. (ignoring rifle weight)

Will the lightweight BCG function decent with the armaspec SRS 3.3? Adjust gas as appropriate.

I had thought about the JP SPS after as I could potentially remove weights to try to reduce gas further. Worth it? Or stick with armaspec 3.3?
I get the impression I cant lighten the armaspec. Where as the JP could in theory remove/swap out a weight for a dummy spacer.

With a good brake on your rifle, spring noise won't be heard. While I could hear it on a A2 flash hider, my VG6 gamma made the spring sound disappear (Man RO's in matches hated that thing lol). All OEM/standard buffer springs.

The BCG will function with adjustment, I run a stupidly light BCG and no weight in my carbine buffer and it was very easy to tune.

So I could possibly get away with running even less buffer weight.
Might be worth JP in the future.

Does it make a noticable difference going from a weight(carbine?) To removing all the buffer weights? Worth tuning to that extreme?

Most people that run a lightweight bcg and a tuneable gas block also load the own ammo. That way it is always consistent, having a Lw bcg and running factory ammo will not maximize its potential.

I did it purely for the weight savings (~4lbs with back up sights and optic), not to minimize recoil, so in that regard the weight I removed from the buffer made it worth it. Never ran this rifle with a standard buffer, just a weightless one. But that's on a 10.5" pencil barrel with a linear comp (jesus never put a brake on a 10" barrel. It's -brutal-. I learned quick.) so it has more felt recoil than my braked 14.5" AR (the vg6 equipped rifle) but only matters on follow up shots ~50+ yards out. I can't say if it'll make a 18.6" smoother or not, but you should be able to run it like that with no issue. But being a bit heavier and braked I'd imagine you can make it very smooth.

If you have other AR's, you can easily swap out a standard buffer to a weightless one to see if it works better/smoother. I can only say that it is doable with an empty buffer, mine has no spacers or weights in it, completely empty.

Ahh makes sense. I do run just one type of factory ammo (buy by the couple cases at a time) so hopefully that helps with some consistency compared to buying random boxes.
I do plan to get into reloading this year (possibly next year with the current situation), but wasn't overly planning to bother for 556.

Ya I got a couple other AR's (carbine weight spring set up/normal BCG/non adjustable gas. Pull trigger it goes bang.) so I can swap parts between to test as needed.
I may end up not going with the brake/less of a brake, will see how she does once functioning.

Excited! Can't wait for Brownells to get my other parts shipped. Now to figure out scopes....

I’m running a Brownells lightweight BCG and a standard Rifle length buffer with all the weight removed (1.5oz) and an SLR adjustable gas block. Gun runs like a dream.

With an 18.6" the brake shouldn't be bad. it gets worse on shorter barrels, and REALLY helps it run flat.
