Anyone ever figure out what A2 buffer tube extension would work to keep the buffer retaining pin in on a BCL-102? It was talked about for a while but there didn't seem to be a known solution at the time.

Maybe the first gen is a bit different. What brand of tube did you use?

Pulled it out of the parts bin. Most stuff I have is Colt so probably one of those.

Also agreed Gen 1 could be the difference. People were complaining about the tube threads being too long rather than too short.

I decided to file down the shoulders on the A2 tube so it would thread in a smidge further. It seems to have worked, got far enough to retain the pin. Now I just need to test it at the range :)

Me too, now I just need to find the parts to be able to put a clamshell handguard on her and get a light profile barrel. Then she will be complete.

Looks good as is. Personally I would keep it the way you have it. I wouldn’t consider a C7 look to be an improvement over a free floated rail with medium contour fluted barrel. Lighter I guess but not freefloated and more barrel whip/heat which also negatively affects accuracy. Also the handguard on the 102 is the only one that matches the contours of the Gen2 nicely.

Will be interesting to see how it turns out. Personally I think it looks right the way you have it right now.

I like the old school look myself. I am all about being lightweight for sure. I definitely want a pencil barrel eventually, although I am thinking it might not look right with the stock hand guard. You are probably right about the receiver profile not matching... Frig I wish I never sold my Gen 1 BCL-102! It does feel like the barrel isnt as heavy as it was on the Gen 1 rifle I used to have. I was surprised to see it weigh in at 10lbs on my scale with optic mounted because it does feel lighter. Maybe the A2 balances it a little better as well.

Damn you and your logic Epoxy7!
