BCL-102 hunting ammo recommendations

Getting excited about taking my 102 for deer season. Can anyone recommend what .308 ammunition to use?

Go buy a few boxes 10-12 of various brand and hunting bullet and shoot them for groups to see what your rifle likes. Not always what one rifle likes will the next rifle like. You're really just rolling the dice.

Factory rifles seem to like 168g match ammo. Not sure ifhow that translates into hunting ammo.

Just about any .308 hunting ammo will do for deer. Find out what your gun likes.

You can give Fed. Fusion MSR ammo a try. It's made specifically for gas guns and comes with a bonded bullet as a bonus.

I’d try some Hornady black too. It was great in my Modern Hunter, it preferred the 155. It’s reasonably priced too, saw it for 32$ a box recently.

Tried a bunch in both my 102's, 150g Remington Core-Lokt in my custom opened up the groups a bit but everything else I tried (Federal Premium, Federal cheap stuff, Fusion, Super X, and couple others in a variety of grains) all shot about the same. Trial and error is your best bet.

Anything with a soft lead tip, between 150-180 gns should be fine for minute-of-bambi

Some AR-10’s don’t like the soft tips, polymer tips are better for reliability in my experience.
