BCL 102 mk7 or stag-10

Chambering live rounds in the house, isn't the right thing to do?
The problem was that I was riding the charging handle, I didnt want 2 rounds to slam together. Letting the bolt slam shut, it works fine!

The troy 10 was cheaper by $50 but I chose the BCL MK7 because it has a lifetime warranty. Besides, BCL hung in there until they got it right. The troy had some exploding bolt issues that were deleted from the forums, they said the issues was only with a limited number of guns but that scared me off. I might not even shoot this gun for a year or two and the troy warranty would have expired before my 1st shot, so the BCL MK7 was the right choice for me, despite the extra $50.

Cheaper isn't/shouldn't be your #1 concern when buying a gun, especially an "AR10" style, there is a reason there hasn't been a lot of cheap ones that also turn out successful...

BCL didn't really "hang in there" either, they are on their 7th version in just a couple years, always promising and saying that THIS NEW ONE, is good to go...I get how some like/want to support Canadian made, but not when it is clearly an inferior product.

It doesn't surprise me at all that the Troy has issues...it is 100% based of a poorly designed rifle that is still having issues like it has had since day 1...them, Troy, not wanting to sell, let alone market this gun in the USA where the market is approx. 10,000x bigger was a BIG red flag to me too!!!

Stag has a good warranty too BTW, along with a lifetime barrel warranty!!!

My BCL 102 2nd gen had a couple of issues but Hailey at BCL had the gun up and running perfectly with a new MK7 Barrel and extractor. Turn around time was about 3 weeks and that was when they were busy with warranty issues. But at least they stood behind the gun and got it fixed. I’ve now run at least 500 rounds through it with maybe a jam or two but nothing major. I would go with the BCL if you have any concerns before buying just contact them and speak to Hailey. She is awesome to deal with.

Just curious on what was the difference between your old barrel and your Mk7? Or are they the same in contour and weight etc..

If you have the money this is a no brainer, I held both recently and purchased the stag there is no comparison between the two the stag is worth the extra money, very similar to comparing a Swiss arms to a Famae.
