nice groups, ejections probably due to some break in work needed. I'd clean it and manually cycle it a couple hundred times dry to look for wear spots.
Did you crimp the bullets on your reloads?
I thought those semiauto would require a crimp, but the bthp you used don't have a cannelure.
Thanks. I'm going to load up some of the campro 147 grain FMJ and see how the "cheap stuff" will shoot. Hoping to achieve a nice target load with the 168s and then a minute of steel plate load with the fmj ammo. I will update with my results
Function: The gun experienced 1 stove pipe in the first 5 rounds. I was using some hornady factory whitetail ammo I got for sighting in my scope. After that issue, I didn't experience a single stoppage. I did notice ejection was erratic. Sometimes brass would eject to the 4 o'clock position, other times it would just toss them on the shooting bench. I will keep an eye on this. Not sure the exact cause but I'm aware of the issues the original 102 experienced. The trigger was a bit of a surprise to be honest. I had plans to order a trigger tech right away, but after this session, I am going to redirect those funds to a Magpul PRS stock as I found the trigger was usable for me to get consistent groups, but my shooting position was less than ideal with the cheap magpul stock it comes with.
Does the ejector have a bevel on the face of it, like the older 102s?
If so, replace it and the spring. It's about $11 for the two pieces from True North Arms and turned my Gen 1 102 into a reliable rifle with strong, consistent ejection.
I will have a look today. Thanks for the tip.
I noticed that several of your groups have 3 or 4 rounds touching with 1 or 2 outliers increasing the group size. Did you happen to notice if the outliers occurred in any particular order e.g. the first shot or the last shot of the group? Just wondering if barrel temp played any part in group size I.e. Hot barrel vs. cold barrel.
Overall pretty respectable groups, though (at least with the 168 gr. bullets).
