First shot out of my bcl 102 left a nice burn on my neck just below my ear. In other words the shell
pretty much came straight back. I have shot right handed firearms for years and have never had that happen.
Any other lefties with this issue? What did you use for a brass deflector?

gotta figure that the heavy round and proportionately heavy powder charge is going to slam that bolt back harder and throw the shell more directly rearward. the deflector ramp should take care of that but at 180gr that's a heavier load. Try some lighter stuff, like some 147gr and see where the shells go. if that changes the trajectory, I'm wondering if a stiffer spring in the buffer would slow the bolt down a bit and eject the heavy-load shells more "outward" instead of into your shirt?

duh on my part - or an adjustable gas block for the big loads - as Banana says below...

Sorry I’m fairly new to this platform. Who makes an adjustable gas block?
I’ll try the different lighter ammo.
Would the 180 grain account for the fail to feed, family to ejects as well? It all happened from the same box of ammo.

I shot 100 rounds left handed with 147gr surplus. No ejection issues. Cartridges ejected at about 135 degrees. Will try heavier loads next time and report back. I'll wear a turtleneck :)
