BCL 102 stripped receiver set thread

Will have a closer look at mine tonight. I know shes a bit snug but dont recall having to force it more than the usual bolt smak when I put the BCG in the upper.

That would be appreciated. Maybe I should just try polishing the tip of the gas tube with some fine sand paper.

It's one of those days where I couldn't let that one go...

It was good for a laugh. I actually did run some 320 grit paper over the gas tube. It now fits nice and tight in the gas key. Everything seems to have come together. Still need to get a dust cover but all the parts fit together now. Reaction rod from TNA was pretty clutch.

Thinking Dill was right about gen1 being best gen. That rounded area by the handguard could be done away with. Still very pleased with the results. Just need to find some go-nogo gauges in the area. Should be fine with a fulton bolt and barrel though. Sitting at about 7.8 lb without optics.

a real AR10 is 3K+ these are bargain basement made NEA's . The only thing that they have going for them is the NR status and the cheap price point. Its Norinco of the North you get what you pay for.

It comes down to like has already been mentioned, if you just want it for plinking 200-300 and not worried about sub MOA accuracy stock is fine. If you want to be chambered in other calibers, and to make it as light and accurate as possible or absolutely customised to you and that is your goal then yes you have to swap out all the parts. It just depends on what your end game is with it. This thread is targeted to the second group.

Here is the list of parts that are confirmed to work so far

- JP BCG ( some rifles need different length gas tubes )
- Brownells BCG ( depends on what day your BCL was built )
- Criterion 18.5" .308 AR, Light Weight, 1x10, Chrome Lined Barrel.
- Midwest Industries MI Armalite AR10 One Piece Free Float Handguard #MI-AR10SSM12
- Geissele SSA trigger
- SLR Helix Handguard (Choose DMPS high Armalite nut when checking out)
- BCM/VLTOR Charge Handle ( fitting required unless you have a Gen 1 )
- Phase 5 bolt catch extended v2
- law tactical folder
- Raptor charge handle ( fitting required unless you have a Gen 1)
- Ergo grip
- Triggertech triggers
- JP Silent Capture 308 buffer
- TALON AMBIDEXTROUS SAFETY
- Fulton Armory High pressure bolt ( fits Gen 1 )
- SLR Adjustable gas block
- Fulton Armalite gas tube

What Ergo grip did you go with? I noticed they have 2 that say they’ll fit a AR-10 style rifle...

Thanks

Likely beaver tail and non beaver tail.

I still can't decide on a grip. Anyone ever use one of those aluminum grips like what tyrant designs has? They look cool but are they slippery? Cold in winter?

Alright. This thread got me. How can I pass up the opportunity to fiddle and customize. Sounds like a receiver set is the way to go for me. I can hide the cost better by buying parts here and there instead of one large CC bill. :) Now... are receiver sets still available and who has the best deal? What colours are available?

I think your only option is to wait for sfrc to put some more recievers on sale or to get really lucky on the EE.
