Hey folks, just thought I'd see if anyone else is having the same issues I am having with their BCL 102 straight from SFRC.

Here it is:

Took the BCL 102 to the range to test this bad boy out and noticed I was having stove pipe issues with every other round, failure to extract creating jams requiring hard extraction.

It did not seem to matter whether I was using the mags provided with the rifle (MAGPUL and black metal one) or the ones I ordered from Wolverine (XCR-M and ASC).

I tried shooting different types of ammo namely Milspec M80 762Nato and Federal 308 Premium ammo.

My other observation the brass for the fired casing would not always eject properly, often finding my last round sitting in the chamber on top of the magazine with the bolt catch engaged by the latter.

I tried swapping out the bcg for a spare I bought, the results are the same which indicates to me the issue is not with the bcg.

I did read somewhere that the BCL102 is very picky with ammo and mags, however swapping mags or ammo doesnt seem to solve the issue.

Ive also noticed when taking the upper and lower apart and putting them back together, if the trigger is uncocked it seems the hammer seems to get in the way.

Im now thinking maybe the issue is with the buffer assembly or possibly with the trigger?

On the plus side, Im getting 1/2moa groupings at 60 yards when using M80 762NATO milspec ammo.

Im very happy with the look and feel of the rifle, with one exception the captain hook stock is very cheap, loose fitting and basically a throw away piece, such a disappointment to find this garbage stock on a rifle of this pricepoint. I swapped it out for the MFT minimalist stock.

Any feedback from others would be greatly appreciated. (Keep it constructive, not a BCL/NEA bashing post).

(Had to repost, previous submission was deleted off CGN).

I had (have) the same issues as you in my gen 1. It doesn't seem to matter what combo of ammo/mags I tried. It was really bad for the first 100 rounds, then kinda calmed down for the next 100 and then slowly started getting worse again. I decided to throw in the towel and send it back for repair after 322 rounds but couldn't fill out the warranty ticket online and never got a response to an email I sent. So, I ordered some new gas rings from TNA and installed them. Hasn't malfunctioned since then but that is only 60 ish rounds. If it starts acting up again I may try some different buffers I have.

Ideally it would have ran from the start or at least I would have been able to send it back for repair, which I may try to do again. I as neutral about NEA/BCL when I bought it but it will be the last product I buy from them.

I have had all failures listed above, there should be an option for all failures above if you are going to have an option for no dailures

thete should actually be only the following options:
failure to feed
failure to fire
failure to extract
all failures listed above
no failures experienced

Lube the crap out of it and try again??

I did that.

Here is the latest. So I took my BCL 102 to the range after cleaning and lubing the crap out of it. Filled a PMAG with 5 rounds and fired it.

Problem with failure to extract persisted throughout that mag. Tried a different mag, no change.

I happen to have my store bought NEA 15 with me that day, so for ####s and giggles I figure lets try swapping the buffer tube and spring from my NEA 15 to the BCL 102.
I figured worst case scenario it fails miserably, which is where I am at now.
Well I kid you not, I fired 3 mags with 5 rounds, no more problems. No Stovepipes, no failure to eject, worked like a charm. I had seen this issue in the past with AR15 platforms where in the case when the spring was slightly too long and caused the BCG to improperly cycle.

Hmmmm, interesting... I'm pretty new to AR/AR Style platforms. I wonder if its possible that the BCL buffer was hanging up on something? I pulled mine out and greased it up pretty good. Don't think it made a difference on my part as the first range trip everything ran without a hiccup.

Do me a favour, measure the length of the buffer spring and count the number of coils. I'd like to compare it to mine.

Unfortunately once you submit the poll it cant be changed. Or perhaps I just cant seem to find the menu/option to do so?

Poll: What issues have you run into with you BCL102?
Stove pipes
Double feed
Failure to extract
Failure to fire or light strike
None, this thing runs perfectly

I think you are missing a few:
Gas rings failure
BCG failure
Gauging in the receiver
Under gassing
Sharp edges on the rifle
Poor craftsmanship
Piss poor accuracy

Just to name a few.

So you're saying it's right on par with everything BCL/NEA makes.. Good to know.

With ARs, even new ones, I like to experiment with different buffers and springs till i find the "sweet spot". I put a high quality aftermarket spring in my bcl and she purrs like a kitten.

So hurtful.

Just having some fun.
I don't own one so I didn't vote. I also won't own one after all the problems they've had since release.
I did get to handle one the other day and it looked really good. Just like my NEA upper/lower I built an AR around I see they are capable of making a nice product, it's just too bad they are so inconsistent.
