It doesn't matter if it works fine in a PGW or rem 700. I used my reloads in a 5R milspec and a few other rifles as well. However rounds that would chamber in the bolt action would jam in the AR10 rifles. Don't use that as your indicator.

I know you're positive it's not your reloads. Which sounds likely from what you posted that it's not. I would however recommend checking with off the shelf factory match ammo. 168 Federal Gold would be the one I would use to check. If this ammo chambers fine then it is 100 percent your reloads. If it won't chamber or is burried in the rifling/lands then it's the rifle. No need to even fire it from the description you provided. If it won't chamber properly then it's 100 percent the rifle and it has to go back to the manufacturer to be fixed.

agree 100%- 9 times outta 10 if there is some sort of issue it can be traced back to some issue with reloads.

Don't have any 168 factory on hand so did a little checking with some win 150gr powerpoint factory hunting ammo at around 2.695 Oal- haven't shot any but confirmed problem with the rifle. When fed from the magazine, bolt allowed to fly forward from being locked back with bolt hold open, ammo chambered fine. When the live round was extracted, was a little tough to extract. Inspecting ammo after chambering showed rifling marks on bullet and oal had grown to 2.705 or so, enough that the cannelure on the bullet was exposed (pulled forward from the case).

Don't have any more of the surplus to check, but it looks like this thing is jamming pretty much everything into the lands, just hadn't noticed as it hadn't stopped it from working and hadn't extracted any live rounds to notice.

Put in a warranty ticket with bcl so we will see what they say

Well pheonix had a sale on today so I picked up a DPMS AR-308 bolt kit, new cam pin, extractor & spring, ejector, and gas rings. The firing pin fit kind of snug, will need some fitting to work in this rifle so it will be a spare. The extractor in the kit seemed better than the factory one to me, hopefully that end is sorted out now. I’ll check to see if mines jamming the lands as well tomorrow. Maybe I’ll measure it and seat some a couple thou off and see how they do.

Good call!

If I have any issues with mine, I'll send it in. But if I feel that a simple change can make the difference then I will likely just use Stag 10 parts. The BCG is compatible as is the buffer. I can't see not being able to fix it if I have to. I may just put the Stag 10 buffer in anyways if it doesn't clank as easily. The BCL 102 buffer seems to have a bit more movement in it than most. I will see.

I hope they fix your rifle quickly!!

Small update- they didn't ask any questions whatsoever- pulled the barrel and sent it in today. Barrel nut was just slightly more than hand tight and one of the set screws on the gas block was not tightened at all f:P:

That was nice of them to leave it all loose for you, sure makes it a lot easier to take apart for warranty work :p
