I know its another "beat a dead horse" thread.
Realizing the early to mid makes of BCL 102's are a real hit n miss.
How do the newer batches stack up to the prior generations?

Well I’m that guy so two birds.....

First for $1000-1200 yes bcl is worth it, for 1899(due to manufacturing cost increases Bahhhahaha) not a chance!

Troy 102, gladly buy yours of EE when they have the same drop that the BCL’s did before preorders are even all filled.

Just spend some time and go back through the threads and read about all the problems for yourself.
You'll find more reports of problems than reports of happy owners and according to the guys having problems it sounds like BCL has opted out of honoring the warranty for the most part.
Tell tale sign is that SFRC has dropped them from their inventory (they still have some parts listed but no more rifles). Must have been too much of a pain in the ass to deal with all the complaints.

To answer your question though, in my opinion no they are not worth it. I wouldn't pay $1000 for one.

Time will tell if its a good investment... Still waiting to see a factory BCL 102 with a high round count running without an issue

I have number 50. Still runs like a champ. Only change from stock configuration is the muzzle brake. Sitting near 4 crates of norc surplus through it, and whatever else I've tried in it. Have a few gen 2, as well. A few stags, also. Really, my bcl rifles run softer. The stag bho on both of mine are occasional. Bcl bho fine. Run the same mags in either brand. I seem to have got the good ones. YMMV.

I have one in burnt bronze, not sure what gen, but it’s in the 900’s. I love shooting it. The only issue I ran into was a couple failures to eject... and I found out that she doesn’t like federal match grade.. when I racked the action and the bolt slammed forward she went off (safety was on), I was pretty pissed off, however the guys at SFRC explained to me it was more of a primer issues with the match grade and to try something else, I’ve run surplus Ammo without being able to replicate the issue. Unfortunately I don’t want to hunt with surplus Ammo and I need to find something else that I can trust not to fire off when I #### my weapon walking into the woods.

You're better off saving your money for a high quality Chinese knock off. Try to get the one where they weld the magazines together

I have 300 rounds through my GEN 3, never had a failure to feed or eject. Love mine, I've ran PMAGS, factory mags and pistol mags with out an issue. It's heavy and mine seems to throw brass 35', would be my only complaints. My 75 year old father has one as well, he loves his, shoots it every week, and has 100s if not thousands of rounds through his.

That said there are some real horror stories guys have had with them.
