BCL 102. Worth it?

I put a warranty request in on the BCL website last Friday and Tuesday they replied they would diagnose problem over phone and send parts or I could ship them the rifle and they would ship back a fixed rifle at zero cost to me. Damn good warranty response I would say. Waiting for the diagnose call now which should be tomorrow.

Note the FTE only happens occasionally but sucks when it does,
 
I have #27 from the first preorder. Not thrilled it’s 500$ Cheaper now. But was worth it to have one of the first NR 308s in Canada like that. Modern hunter being too niche and expensive...

I probably have a couple thousand through mine. Only hiccup was an old handload that didn’t chamber.

Didn’t like surplus or military ammo, but I load my own anyway.

I’ve cleaned it three times maybe. Best group was no more than an inch at 100 meters but is more like 2 moa on average.

At 1200-1300$ I’d happily buy another if I needed one. I was going to sell and buy a stag, but for the loss I’d take I’ll just spend it on a new barrel and really enjoy it.
 
Not sure why I never chimed in here.

I had a gen 1, now have a gen 3, no issues whatsoever with either rifle. The first gen was a little rough around the edges (which I liked), the gen 3 rifles are very refined and pretty looking. Great fit, finish, and function. Seeing them on the EE for 1G is a bargain. Buy one. Don't give in to the anti BCL/NEA BS, its mostly just armchair commandos that have 0 hands on experience just spouting their usual BS.
 
First range trip with my bcl102 and I just put 150 rds through it with only one failure to eject and that was with cheap Winchester grey box hunting rds. Trigger is a little gritty and the Captain Hook stock has to go. Blowing a storm at the range so I was more concerned with making sure the rifle actually cycled. So far I’m happy.

It depends, my Gen 2 rifle works great and is accurate but I did change:
- furniture (I’m very tall with big hands)
- trigger (It was atrocious and I wanted a great one)

I’m very satisfied but it is heavy and 308 recoil is not negligible!

I have had zero problems with mine, but I changed the furniture, trigger, bolt, BCG, gas tube and gas block, buffer spring, charging handle and barrel. So the only thing left that was BCL is upper and lower receiver and buffer tube. But it function flawlessly, never had a single hiccup and it shoots excellent
 
Bought my G2 new on Black Friday. First time out I didn’t get 3 shots through it. FTF, mangled rounds and then locked up with a live round in it with the bolt partially opened. Had to pound it open with a rod down the barrel. All rounds were factory Winchester super x. The barrel extension turned and was not allowing the bolt to unlock. Also the firing pin retainer had backed out and tore up the upper receiver. Sent in for warranty and they’ve had it 6 weeks with no answer to my emails or phone calls. Prior to sending it in they were great. After they received it, terrible. 22 day turn around my a$$! I will never buy a Black Creek Labs product again. Shame as I woul really like to support Canadian manufacturers.
 
Meh, I avoid BCL and NEA like the plague.
Not because they are Canadian, love supporting Canadian companies as much as humanly possible, but NEA/BCL don't have the best track record.
Going to save for Stag 10 instead but still have to acquire a Kriss Vector 10mm first.
 
I bought one today. Fit seems really good, and finish as well. Mine says nsr 2019 and # is 03320, which gen would that be?
I haven’t shot it yet, which is the most important thing lol
 
for the life of me I don't know why someone would choose a BCL 102 over a Stag 10 at this point.

Please explain because I'm not getting it.
 
really tired of all the hate on BCL and the mis-placed love for Stags. Take a scroll down and you'll see plenty of threads about issues with Stags as well. AR10s in general are known for ejection issues, its why the M110 uses dual ejectors for example. Black Creek is addressing these issues, the guns have a lifetime warranty. The BCL is much more affordable than a Stag and buying a BCL is supporting a Canadian company. Dont think that if you buy a Stag, you'll be walking in memphis.
 
If you are looking for a blaster or general shooter the BCL-102 would be a good buy if you can find a deal.
If you are looking for something that can offer up a higher quality barrel or a different caliber, piecing one together would be the way to go, and I'd just start with the Stag if you are building one.

Currently have both and both serve their purposes.
Nothing wrong with the BCL, but like all firearms they can have their problems. Do some research and know what you are getting into.
 
Do people actually think the Stag is better quality? Have you handled both? All I know is fit and finish in my opinion is better on the BCL as well as it has ambi controls. Stag seems to be way pickier with ammo and seems to have failures more than my BCL. Accuracy in both guns I would say are the same.

I think people are equating the fact that the stag costs more, so therefore it must be better quality. That's not always the case though.
