Hey guys, this is my first thread on here. I've just been lurking for a while. Back at the end of March I decided to buy a new rifle, went to look at a Ruger Precision Rifle and left wanting a BCL 102. I purchased the Rifle from Marstar and recieved it in good time so I was happy, it felt of good quality and I really thought it was. I dont get out shooting as much as I'd like but I made it out on the Canada day long weekend to eagerly try out my new rifle. I had picked up some Winchester powermax 150gr as well as some Hornady match 168gr BTHP to try out as I had a brand new Ruger american predator in 308 to try out as well this shooting session. I loaded up a couple mags and went to sight in my scope, but I soon figured out that something wasn't right. Every second or third shot I would either get a failure to eject or a stove pipe, I was thinking maybe it was the Winchester ammo so I loaded up the Hornady and same deal. So then I thought to myself, it's a new rifle maybe it's just a matter of breaking it in a bit, so I continued to shoot and after about 60 rounds it didnt get any better. If anything things got worse as the failures caused some marring damage to my upper. At this point I decided it was time to shut er' down for the day and get in contact with BCL directly. They were quick with a response and told me they've been experiencing this issue and have created an ejection repair kit to fix the issue of the rifles short stroking, so this was good news. They also said they would replace my upper under warranty after having to express my displeasure with the damage. They sent me a prepaid shipping label and said there would be about a 10 day turnaround period, so I shipped it off to them July 7th. On July 15th I got an email from UPS that I was expecting a package from BCL, so I fire off a quick email to BCL to see how things went. The customer service manager tells me that they had to replace the complete BCG and that the gun was now cycling fine, but had nothing to say about the upper being replaced. I fire off another email asking about that and get a response that the damage is superficial and I shouldn't worry about it, just need paint touched up though there was physical marring on the edge of the ejection port from the neck of casings smashing into it. So now I start to get a little upset but keep things professional. Again another email gets sent expressing my displeasure and they agree once again to replace the upper but inform me that they dont have any receivers available for paint right away and no longer carry the colour ceracote that I ordered my rifle in (burnt bronze) so it would take some time to get it figured out which I had no problem with. I then reciever another email days later that they ended up having a reciever that was ready to be sent out and gave me a time frame of a week to a week and a half, this was july 16th. I followed up July 22nd to see how things were going and they said it should be ready by the end of that week, the following day (July 23rd) I recieve another email that there was a delay in getting the burnt bronze ceracote and now it wouldn't be ready until the following Tuesday, again I leave them be and follow up once again on the Monday (July 29th) and dont recieve a response until the 30th saying they hadn't yet got the upper back and were hoping to have it that day. Again I wait and send off another email on the first of August and get told it is still not finished and they've asked their painter to prioritize it for them but have no ETA. August 3rd I ask for an ETA and recieve an email back on the 6th saying they are still waiting. August 8th rolls around and they say its complete, they just need to reassemble the rifle, test and ship it, but it wouldn't be shipped until the 13th. I get it the following day in the same box I had shipped it in, and right away notice something wrong before even opening the box. The charging handle and bolt had been removed by myself when I shipped it and they had left it assembled and just boxed it back up to ship back to me. The charging handle had poked through the box and got damaged. I proceed to open the box to inspect the rifle and at first it looked all good, but then I noticed some blemishes in the ceracote and that the upper and rail didnt match the lower as they had before, so again another email to BCL with pictures and get a quick response within the hour, asking what was damaged other than the box? (I provided pictures of the damage to the charging handle and the paint blemishes) so I tell them. I get an email back a short while later saying they will send me a new charging handle and that the ceracote they used was the closest match to the original and that they now use a different painter to do their work, and not the same one as when my rifle was made. I was also told that no paint imperfections could be seen from my photos, thought they were very clear. They also say that they can paint my lower to match but I will have to send it back to them once again. So basically after a month wait since the first time they told me my rifle was done I finally recieve it back with what seems like more issues than it left with. My hands seem tied at this point, and I dont know what to do. Spend $1800 on a rifle and get half decent service but sub par results. I just want to put the heads up out there as what to expect if/when you have issues with your BCL or to enlighten people looking to purchase. I'm just super unsatisfied with the whole ordeal.
