You're missing the point entirely. The reason it's a s**t deal is exactly because YOU paid the same as HIM except you're enjoying a rifle that is holding together for now and he got shipped a ####ing headache.
That's exactly the problem. Zero consistency and theres plenty of well documented examples of how far down the rabbit hole they can go with the inconsistency.
Put it this way, the lure of the NEA 102 was pulling on me pretty strong too. I didn't roll the dice because I could be you right now or I could be him. Plus I got to see first hand how spotty and finicky one was right out of the box.
And it doesn't matter how you want to paint that, the bottom line is that it's a spotty company putting out spotty inconsistent product with varying warranty results.
