New Siberian showed up a week ago. So far it only has 500 rounds through it but by end of August I should have about 5000 rounds through it assuming it doesn't break or something.
This rifle needed some "break in" for the first 150 or rounds. At first I was a little annoyed because while I recognize breaking in is a thing and I've had to do it with many firearms I really think guns should be ready to go out of the box. But I've seen it with multiple semi rifles, semi pistols and pump actions like Mossberg and Remington. But with the exception of Remington 870 with detach mags I've never had trouble inserting a magazine right out of the box, and the BCL was a really tight fit for the first 10 or 15 magazines. Then whatever part of the machining or finishing that was holding it up finally wore off and the mags go in just fine now (Almost all Cross Mags) So less annoyed now.
I scavenged a Vortex AR red dot off my WK-180 Gen 1 and installed it and was pleased to note I needed to make zero corrections. Right off the bat I was hitting 6" gongs at 100. Maybe if I push it out further I may have to fine tune but right now it's fine.
The controls on the rifle seem pretty good, close enough to an AR15 which I am very familiar with.
So far I like the rifle better than my WS-MCR's and my WK-180 which decided to start breaking gas rods after it hit 6000 rounds, despite installing new guide hole plugs or whatever they are called. The WS-MCR's are just reliable beasts that just chug away and I've had to replace minimal parts and still remain reasonably accurate despite having in excess of 10K rounds through them. But the BCL feels better, the receiver is more enclosed and has better controls.
Out of the box the BCL was tight, tight, tight. Everything was tight and needed that break in but it gets more reliable with every magazine shot.
But it's only 500 rounds, we will see how it goes. I'll probably be at about 1000 rounds in a week or two so I'll post about any good or bad stuff.
PS I have no intention of covering it in mud or sand to see what happens, nor do I intend to just load up 1000 rounds in magazines and pull the trigger as fast as I can to see what happens. That stuff is fun and all, but completely irrelevant to how I (or most shooters) use a rifle.
