Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if any of you have installed the Luth AR MBA 1 or 3 on your BCL102.

If you have did it require any additional fititng or work to install.

Also I know a lot of people have been using the Magpul PRS anybody have experience with both?

From my research online the Luth AR MBA appears cheaper, lighter and with more adjustment.

I found the same thing as you: the Luth-AR is lighter, cheaper, and a little bit more adjustment range for the forward and rearward movement of the cheek comb. Basically, the BCL has an ar-15 carbine buffer tube. So, the luth-ar MBA 3 carbine stock will work with the existing buffer tube; and the PRS gen 3 will work with the carbine tube. For the luth-ar MBA-1, you will need an ar-15 rifle A2 buffer tube; and the PRS gen 3 will work with a rifle length buffer tube.

The PRS gen 3 works with either, but from what I have read, the PRS is better when paired with a rifle buffer tube.

I have read on here somewhere, "stripped upper and lower build" thread I think, that a standard ar-15 A2 buffer tube will fit on the BCL 102.

I do believe that if you change to an A2, you should probably change your spring. I am not 100% though.

The bcl doesn't have a true carbine length buffer tube. In order to make it fit the gen 3 prs you need to either install a carbine length tube or cut 0.155" off the end of the buffer tube and open up the mouth where the threads of the buffer tube hit the stock.

Thanks for the response, so will i need to buy a new buffer tube in order to fit the Luth MB3?

Yes.

And the greater impact is that the BCL Armalite based recoil system expects the A5 length tube to allow greater travel to accommodate the longer AR10 bolt.

The DPMS buffer and spring uses the Standard Carbine length buffer tube. However the DPMS buffer is shorter to accommodate the required length of travel.

Different systems to accomplish the same objective.

Note: some have cut back the BCL buffer tube to accommodate carbine stocks.

Thanks for the answers. I looked at brownells and their only one is currently backordered.

Oh, I weighed my buffer. It weighed 5 ounces. So the buffer in there is heavy. I don't see any problem in using it, either in oem form or with a new tube.
