bcl102 hunters, do you crimp your handloads or not ?

I made up some dummy rounds for my bcl102 and have noticed after a few manual cyclings the bullets are slipping forward more and more each cycle.

It wouldn't be an issue when target shooting as a guy would just load and fire but when hunting I might unchamber a round multiple times per day over the course of a few weeks.

Are you guys crimping your hunting handloads or not, just curious as I've never crimped reloads before.

Fwiw the bullets I'm starting out with have a cannelure so they would take a roll crimp correct ?

I run all my semi hand loads through a factory crimp die. I have been told a hundred time is not necessary but I don't care it gives me the peace of mind.

The military crimped ammo for a reason. The Lee FCD works well.

I always use a factory crimp die when loading for semi’s. Both for rifles and pistols.

If it goes in a semi, or tube mag - its gets crimped.

Always crimp ammo for semis - it might only happen once in a thousand rounds, but if that bullet gets pushed back, your chamber pressures can skyrocket. No one wants to see what happens when you touch off a 100,000 cup round. Fulton used to have an article on their website about a guy who had that happen to an early Springfield M1A (mostly GI parts - kind of a "golden age" gun) it came apart, so did the guy's hand. Not worth it.
