BCL102 Range Review, SECOND RANGE TRIP POST 123!!!

Looks really good, nice to see you taking 5 and 10 round groups... and it shows the benefits of that medium barrel and fluting being consistent after multiple shots.

So your best grouping was with the Barnes 168 TSX BT?

Boys,I hate to rain on your parade, but there's nothing accurate about any of the groups I've seen so far.

For a hunting rig ,anyways.

If your shooting 1 1/2 to 2 at 100 ,from a bench.
What you think that's gonna be at 300 ,offhand ,at a deer.
About a 12 inch spread?

If your going to claim it's accurate,at least get it to shoot MOA at 100.

My 7 mm shoots five rnds MOA ,out of the box, with factory ammo.

:)

With a pooched scope? I will reserve judgement till he shoot with a working scope. But not bad for a pooched scope.

I thought this was the Main Battle Rifle section I was in...whoops

I thought it was a NR hunting rifle...whoops...:

At least that's what everyone keeps saying they are using it for.

And what does pooched turrets got to do with the crosshairs.

I mean it was being aimed at the same spot, wasn't it?

Or was it being adjusted for every shot..lol

Hey ,I'm not trying to cause sh!t or stir up the pot.

But c,mon, nothing shows any accuracy yet, and I've seen you guys post about 10 different kinds of ammo.

Get this thing to at lest shoot a few 5 rnd groups at 1 MOA, then call it accurate.

Anything over MOA,isn't deserving to be called accurate.

im going to be buying a another rig for moose hunting, and it's either this or a 6.5 Grendel, for my MV.

I'm hoping to see someone put up some 5 rnd groups ,with at lest MOA or sub.

You are comparing a semi to a bolt 7mm. They are apples and oranges. Plenty of deer are taken with 1 1/2 - 2" group guns at 300yds every year. Go crap disturb elsewhere.

I'm not crap disturbing anywhere, just pointing out a few facts.
If you can shoot the same ,freehanded as off the bench, more power to ya.

And I could care less what anyone hunts with,it's none of my business.

All I'm saying is,I'd like to see some real groups,100 yards ,5 rnd groups.

Also, there's nothing wrong with calling this a hunting rifle,it's NR,right?

When I drive in the backroad, with one of these strapped on my back,I'll probably get stopped by wildlife officers.
I'll show them the FRT and they'll be,OK you're GTG.

Soon it'll be the normal for those guys,to see these type of guns in the bush.

That just spreads out, leads to better things:)

If you can't kill a deer at 300 with a 1.5-2 moa rifle, you won't be doing it with a 1 moa rifle.

That's the truth. A few decades ago a 2MOA hunting rifle was considered "extremely accurate" by guys like Jack O'Connor and his contemporaries. We all like accurate hunting rifles but I've seen lots of animals killed at 300 yards by guys that couldn't shoot anything even resembling a group at 100 yards. Laugh2

Years ago ,there was no range finders,so 300 yards was probably more like 100 yards.

Kinda like the , fish stories...lol

Hey guys and gals..:)
Sorry if I offended anyone.
The whiskey got the better of me.

I'm sure these are great guns and are quite capable of doing, what you need it to do.
Didn't mean to stir any crap.

I'll bow out and wait for more range reports.

In all fairness we're only seeing hunting rounds, plinking and surplus. Some of the so called "match" ammo isn't ammo I've ever seen shoot well in anything. The good news is, they seem to work as advertised. Also that 1.5 moa group was 10 round, not 5 and not 3. With the kind of ammo being used, it's shooting the way it's supposed to. Give it a bit until we see some Gold Federal 168-175, SMK and Amax reloads as well as Lapua. Then we'll get an idea.

Still only a few people have these in their hands. Many are on the side lines waiting and a few like myself are waiting until the fall IOP prices. A bit of patience... There is still a lot we don't know about these rifles. We still don't know if AR10 barrels are even compatible with the BCL102
