BCL102 vs Troy102 vs Stag 10

YMMV but I would stay away from the BCL if I was you.

I loved mine (first gen and one of the first to be delivered) for the first 500 rounds. Hovered just over 1 MOA with my reloads and occasionally got sub 1 MOA.

At 500 rounds the takedown and pivot pin holes were oval and the rifle became a sloppy mess with upper lower fitment being extremely sloppy side to side and with up down movement. Approx. $200 later cerakote was stripped and I had it hard coat anaodized to stop further wear.

Rifle is sloppy as #%$@ with an o ring around the front pivot to try and keep it tight. It now sits in my safe as a reminder to never by a BCL again.

Does anyone know if Troy fixed this issue? Assuming it’s recoil vs 6061.

Not covered by their "lifetime warranty"?
 
I didn’t ask but I am pretty sure they would not anodize it so I didn’t bother. I did email them about purchasing larger OD pins and got no reply.

I am trying to machine a custom set of larger OD pins myself.
 
Can someone direct me to where one finds a stag10 receiver set please. Assuming the EE is my only option right now as someone mentioned waiting for the next run of them.

What is the general price range of the receiver set?

What is the price of a new stag10? (not custom build EE specials)

Any suppliers currently stocking the stag10?

RDSC is currently showing Stag 10 receiver sets in stock BUT the price is the highest I've seen at $749.99

The Stag 10 definitely beats BCL in quality and reliability. I havent handled the Troy yet but id be surprised if its better than the Stag
 
Just took my Troy 102 out, shot steel cased super cheap ammo and also winchester .308, not a single issue so far. Super happy with it, got a set of irons and it's way more accurate than I am.
 
I was in the same boat as you OP after reading a bazillion posts on that there internets I settled on building myself a stag 10. I Havnt been this happy with a rifle in a long time. If it's something your going to keep around for a long time go with a stag you won't be disappointed. Get good parts. It took me three and a half months to piece mine together but after it was all said and done I was left with a pretty bad a&& rifle. It weighs 10lb 5oz fully dressed with empty mag and scope which isn't terrible. But I don't regret it. Bcl and Troy are budget options and very well may be good options but if you plan on customizing it at all save your money and do it from the ground up you'll end up with exactly what you want with no extra parts from buying a complete rifle and changing things.
