bcl102

I'm still very satisfied with my BCL102, shot another 150 rounds through it tuesday and it shots Federal Gold Match 168gr 1.25" 5 shot groups at 100m.
I changed the stock for a Magpul one and change the trigger for a Geiselle SSA-E, expensive but worth every penny.
I might buy a Stag-10 once I can see and handle one but might buy a BCL102 6.5 CM upper in the meantime.

Also, I'm happy to encourage a Canadian company anytime that I can and hope that they'll use my money to improve their product ;)

The bcl 102 has slightly less upgrade potential than the stag 10 in the fact that it doesn't take dpms handguards although there are decent armalite options. You have to butcher charging handles to fit in the bcl.

If you're going to upgrade just build from scratch off a receiver set. If you're building off a receiver set the stag is cheaper and has a Lpk and dust cover installed and is cheaper, more compatible with parts, and better quality so might as well go stag. If you get a complete rifle there's less that needs upgrading on a stag

I just received my BCL-102 this week and all I can say is it has exceeded my expectations. It is a gen 2 with the better trigger. I have read all the threads on CGN about this rifle and was skeptical due to the negative posts by some. I'm sure there where bad rifles shipped out but mine was not one. All the machine marks between the upper and lower line up perfect and I cannot find a fault anywhere. Put 80 round through it yesterday and did not have a single issue. Shoots 150 gr cheap federal blue box ammo quite well. All 1.5 to 2 inch groups.

All in all I would say if you find a good deal on one don't hesitate!

I shared your opinion until I started to notice significant side to side wobble together with up down and front to back movement between the upper and lower at just under 500 rounds.

The use of soft aluminum 6061 combined with not anodizing the upper and lower is what I beleive caused this.

I immediately stopped shooting it and had the upper and lower receiver stripped of ceracoat and anodized which will hopefully prevent further wear on the takedown and pivot pin holes, which are now oval. I had only taken the rifle down a handful of times at this point.

If you are going to build a BCL, get it anodized.

I would rather BCL had anodized than ceracoated. Stupid in my opinion.

If I was to do a do over and knew about the Stag 10 option before hand (it didn’t exist when I purchased my gen 1 last year) I would not have purchased a BCL.

My 2 cents.

not only are the stag sets cheaper..... they are forged 7075 aluminum and type III hard anodized . I wanted to get a BCL-102 after one of the moderators here posted great reviews but in the end, the quality and reputation and very professional fit and finish of the Stag-10 wins out for me.
In the end it's about years of accuracy and reliability so time will tell if I've made the right purchase. I think I have though, considering other options for this type of rifle.

Mine has done really well so far. ~200 rounds and the only problem I have had is my dust cover doesn't want to stay closed. Pretty I just need to loctite a set screw.

Ive own both the BCL and the Stag

I no longer have the BCL just like many of other members here.

Stag-10 is 100x better in every single way !!!

i Like mine it doesn’t like cheap ammo shots good federal ok. It stovepipes the cheap ammo. The only other issue I have is the bolt will not lock back. Cannot pull it back far enough to grab the face of the bolt. I am going to assume it has the wrong buffer in it or the buffer tube is the wrong one.
