Hello builders,

A few months ago I ordered a BCL15 stripped receiver set and have slowly been buying parts.
Last night I decided to build my lower and a few of my upper pieces, however ran into something that bothers me and I'm not sure if its normal or not.

When the receivers are together I notice about a 0.003"-0.005" range of movement between the upper and lower. Its like the upper will rock back and forth slightly while on the lower.
I have determined this to be slop between the pivot pivot pin being large enough to fill the holes on the lower receiver, but being very loose on the upper receiver.

My question is this normal for AR platforms? or is it more of a BCL issue with tolerances based on user experience here.
Im going to snag a micrometer from work on monday and take some measurements and pictures to confirm my findings just looking for advice as its my first build.

Thanks CGN!

Lower quality receiver sets (BCL is in this category) will have slop between the upper and the lower. It should still function fine though. If it bothers you, you can get rubber wedges that go under the takedown pin that will tighten things up.

Normal, almost every AR styled rifle has a little wiggle. Don't worry about it.
Even my $2000+ rifles have a little play, it doesn't affect anything negatively when shooting.

Completely normal, if it bothers you too much you can shim the front take down pin with a shim kit or use a foam plug near the rear like others have suggested.

My BCL receiver set from the TNA mystery box sale mates together very well and is super tight. Once I hang some parts on it i'm sure it will develop some slop, like most AR type rifles
