Or skateboard tape. I think the carbine hits just a bit over 7lb empty with this setup. I can put up with some ugly rubber covers.
Good stuff. These are slightly heavier but supposedly stronger than the original KMR.

Just a heads up for KMR owners. After disassembling/reassembling my KMR (swapped on uppers and maintenance) I noticed the barrel nut starts to peen ever so slightly, like barely noticeable, from the wrench after torquing it to BCM specs. Enough so that it will gouge the inside of your handguard. Don't be surprised the next time you remove it to find very fine silver shavings around the nut.
