actually just about any buffer will do if you are not going to fire it automatic.....as long as it is the proper length for you buffer tube,( ie. carbine vs.rifle length ).
the only time that buffer weight is important is when your planning on firring automatic, then, barrel lenght, weight of the carrier and buffer spring/weight becomes an issue for properly achiving a controlable cyclic rate.
if your going that way, its trial and error or you just buy it all done up from a reputable cie.
anyways, the army and police are pretty much the only one whom actully need theses set-up, and they buy them all built-up from the manufacturer.

Email from BCM for reference purposes...

Hi Scott

With mil-spec pressured ammo a H buffer should be fine.

Enjoy!

Thank you for choosing BCM.

Hello,

I recently purchased a BCM C8 SFW upper receiver assembly and a BCM BCG from One Shot Tactical in Canada. I would like to tell you that I am very pleased with the quality of your manufacturing. If my build shoots as good as she looks, I will be one proud owner.

What buffer would you recommend to be matched to this upper? I am running it on a lower that currently has a standard carbine buffer and spring.

Cheers,

Scott
