Good Evening All,

WE'RE RUNNING A 2-DAY MATCH on September 25-27! It is short notice, and we know that, but the idea is to provide you all with a match in an amazing venue and for us to learn how to run it there. Some of you have already signed up for this match, and we've had to cap it at 50 due to the BC Government guidelines for large gatherings. WE ONLY HAVE 40 SPOTS LEFT AND THIS MAY SELL OUT QUICK! If you have already signed up, please go back and and edit your registration for your t-shirt size if we are able to source them in time. If you haven't signed up yet, here is the link:

Additionally, here is all the match info, but be sure to ask me if you have any more questions;
Welcome to the FIRST EVER BCPRL 2 DAY MATCH y'all! Shooters, please take a moment to read through this. Some very good info on what to expect! I'll start off by saying that we are capping this match at 50 shooters (due to COVID restrictions) and it will be more of a short notice test run than anything else! Expect a fun match with tons of cool stuff, but Tyler and I are gonna learn a lot, so please be patient with us.

Location: Three Bar's Guest Ranch, Cranbrook, BC

This is a two day, precision rifle match hosted by the BC Precision Rifle league and will challenge shooters of all skill levels. The match will be a pretty uptempo match, lots of shooting, and will be both physically and mentally demanding. Most stages will have some sort of stress involved; either timed or varying target sizes. There will be many different barricades and natural terrain to navigate through while shooting the match as well. Come prepared! It is not supposed to be super easy. Again, Come Prepared and be ready to have a great time!!
We strive to have minimal down time.

Shooters can expect ranges of 1 yard to 1400 yards. Many targets will be in the 300-800 range. There will be NO PISTOL targets as this match is held on a private ranch and not a range. Therefore, no restricted or prohibited rifles are allowed at this match either as we'd like to stay within the bounds of Canadian law!

OTHER INFO

Calibers for the match will be 308 Win and under for rifles.
Round count will be +/- 200 rifle if you get all your shots off. Bring Extra for Re-zero, reshoots, practice after the match, etc.
Muzzle velocity for your match rifle at 3200 FPS or under. We will check randomly!
You will be required to carry all your gear with you all day. And there will be some hiking so pack accordingly. If anyone needs extra accommodation please don’t hesitate to ask.
It’s potentially going to be hot, and sunny. Come with the sun protection you need to be comfortable.
We will have 18-20 stages over the course of the two days for you guys. It's going to be a blast. We have been working our butts off in the hopes you all have a good time. I think you will.

SCHEDULE

Friday (25th September) - zero day and speed. Ranges open from 10 am - 6 pm. 100 yard zero board setup and steel set out to roughly 600 yards. Sign in open until 6-ish and we'll be around if you need us.
Saturday (26th September) - 12 stages, Safety brief at 0930, rounds down range at 1000. Providing all runs smoothly and there are no target failures, we'll be done around 1700 - 1800. It'll be a long day, so bring snacks, water and whatever else you need to be out in the elements. Beer and dinner provided by the amazing Beckley Family here at the Three Bar's Guest Ranch on Saturday night, so please come, hang out and enjoy yourself!
Sunday (27th September) - 8 stages, shooter meeting 0800, rounds down range at 0830. Again, of all goes smoothly and to plan, we should be done around 1300-1400 and then we'll do the awards and get you all on the road!
Waters will be provided all weekend.

Squadding/scoring-We will be doing scoring via Practiscore.

really wish I could've gone to this one! Sounds like a ton of fun!!! If you guys put on this match next year with a little more notice, I will be there!!

Hey thanks for all the interest y'all and I am sorry about the short notice! I know that it's not ideal, but like I said, this is more just to get our feet wet and lean how these things run. Below I'll answer some of the questions you have:

@snowballs: we have drawn a lot more competitors from BC than I was initially anticipating, and more are filtering in from AB and SK as we go. This is new to us as most of our matches to date have been on the West side of BC and haven't been able to pull guys that far. Additionally, in a normal year, a match like this would be opportune for shooters in WA, ID and MT, however, with the border closures and large gathering limits in BC, we're a little SOL. Future years we plan to expand this match 2x or 3x easily.

@jhnvan: yes, future events will be held with MUCH more notice and we will do our best to show you guys and gals how this match runs through photo and video :)

@twosmokinspades: contact Tyler or Jenna at the ranch (info@threebarsranch.com) for more info about the local camping/RV. They have good connections throughout the Cranbrook area and will steer you in the right direction!

Thanks kudu for a great event. Thanks also to the sponsors, volunteers and Three Bars Ranch for all you did to make this a great event.

Here's my challenge to all of you. Think you're a good shot? Step outside of your comfort zone and try a different shooting game. It is very, very eye opening. And humbling.

Oh, and there are some really, really good shooters floating around CGN.

Outstanding match. Amazing volunteers running the stages.

Thanks to 3 Bars Ranch and the BCPRL organizers (you guys did a great job Josh and Tyler)

Fortunate to be on Squad #1 with experienced guys who were there to compete but still had time to give advice and wisdom.

Special thanks to Rugby Dave for the Kestrel advice and congratulations on your win!

New to PRS and what a learning experience. Agree with Donny Fenn1. Grab your rifle and try this out - be prepared to be humbled.

I just broke my ribs so offhand and wierd positions don't work. Need volunteers? I could probably help on one or all the days.

Get out and give them a hand. You will meet some of the best folks in our community. I know many of them from the Meaford LRSC and I sure miss their humour.

You will learn a tonne with so many takeaways!!

All the Best!!
Barney

Agree with all the above! Huge kudos to Josh and Tyler for running a great match at an awesome venue and thanks to 3 Bars Ranch and all involved for their hospitality and hard work!

Was fortunate to meet and shoot with some great folks in squad 1 (like Snowballs and Donny Fenn1).

If you weren't there, don't miss it next year!
