BCRA Tactical Rifle 2011/2012

I think I'll join you lot for this Tac Rifle shoot.

Is BC tac rifle a once a year shoot or do you have friendly matches or practices?
I attended the BCRA August long weekend shoot as a spectator and the boys running the show said I was welcome to join the club so I could shoot on their practice days. I'm assuming this is the only way to get some 300m to 600m practice?

I'm a rookie at this long range target stuff, other than being a member at the mission range and punching holes out to 300.

This a once a year match however there used to be similar warm up matches on the island and in Kamloops but I'm not sure if they are still running or not. The Bcra runs lots of target dates where you could join in and get a little practice while they do their target stuff. You'll have to join to shoot the sniper match anyways so you might as well make the best of it.
 
I have heard some rumours that the July long weekend date currently advertised might not be available due to DND issues. Could someone in the know comment, please.

If the match is moved to another date that would be fine, but it would be nice to know as soon as possible so we can plan for shooting at other competitions held that same weekend.
 
Yes it would be nice to know.

We are waiting on DND to confirm or deny. Then the BCRA will have to let us know what we can have.

As soon as we know it will be posted.

Still looking for people to help with the match. Marketing especially as I will be lucky to have two weeks total back home before the match and co ordinating from over here is difficult at best.

C'mon guys, step up.

There has been a lack of interest in a warm up match in Kamloops over the years antecedence very poor so we did not reserve any dates for for this match in our calender this year. However we did increase the round count for the service condition match this year. Last year we had a few more shooters attend and with the increased round count we would hope to see more this year.
 
Hello All,

The dates for BCRA Tactical rifle provincial championship are August 31(sight in day )Sept-3 (Sept 1,2,3. Match days) dates of match are the result of construction on Volkes range ( new pistol pad being installed) no other dates available including possibility of 2 day match .Course of fire and rules were sent out for posting on this site last week, obviously they were not posted they will be posted tonight or tomorrow - I am having a great deal of computer trouble As well as eye trouble ( lost my right eye- computer screen / lights fatigue remaing eye ) any questions, queries or complaints please call me directly for a timely reply

Great that you would help set one up with me but being i'm new to the TACTICAL side of the game I wouldn't know where to start, he need to get Longshot up this way for a weekend visit and show us how to do one.....:D

Someone who wants to write the letter of introduction and solicitation, contact potential and past sponsors, follow up that contact with emails and phone calls, get the prizes shipped, post pics of the swag on the board to generate interest, issue tax receipts and write thank you letters, design the t-shirt layout and get it printed, get the patches embroidered, write the match book and have it printed, arrange the barbeque, etc., etc.

Also write a letter of invitation for LE and Mil and send it out to all the different units and follow up.

There's more, aren't you glad you asked? :)

I think we are all very appreciative of the hard work you put in every year. It's no small task.
