BCRA Tactical rifle championship 2007

Here is a map to the range. First round of Zeroing starts at 0900, second round at 1230. If you miss the 0830 safety brief you won't shoot until 1230.

man they've straightened the river out a lot lately eh? just so you know if you've gone far enough it's almost exactly 21 km's from Vedder road to the front gate of the range.

It's exact..., within 50m...., and on the right side of the road.
Sure looked alot different, not been'n in the back of a 2 1/2......

Clocked it from the left turn off Old Yale onto Chilliwack Lake Rd..
Watch it guys, that left is JUST before you hit the bridge deck.
"Cross CR, and you've gone to far..."

Is anyone from Calgary driving out? I need to ship a box of prizes that was forgotten but it won't get there in time unless it travels with someone????

Sorry, just got to Chilliwack about 1hr ago from Calgary. I was working in Golden and combined it with the shoot. Savage should still be in Calgary and is driving out on thursday or Friday.

spiked all the drinks tonight, the roofies should be kicking in soon.................

so we have 10 drunks here right now, weather sucks, but BBQ is good. Rohan chickened out, but I understand that he'll be taken care of later. I've lent out my best bottle of lube although from what I understand Rohan won't need it.

Hope you guys had fun out there, we had sun, rain, wind everything to make a day of shooting interesting here, hope to see some pics soon :D

(No pics of Rohan getting violated though please!)

Observations from the peanut gallery….

First off, while my daughter and I were only able to watch half the first day, a ‘well done’ to all the participants, and a special thanks to Mike for his time and effort putting this match together. While I’d be surprised if he didn’t pop a vein by the end of the shoot, I thought he did a stellar job, given the new TTP he tried out, and trying to org it from the island.
A vacation well spent, though I bet he’d argue that point……

Some general items I noticed:

The semi’s struggled, mostly it seems due to ammo probs, but that 5 round limit plays merry hell with trying to stay in the zone. So much for thinkin’ I could shoot this w/ my Norc next year…..

Looks to me like shooting this comp is better done w/ factory ammo, less you got a pile of confidence and experience in your loading technique, and have actually shot the 200+ rounds of your comp load, prior to the match.

Good optics are a must (obviously….). Some good lookin’ glass out there.

VPD has some cool kit. Those silenencers are the cats a**. I never thought you could tone down 308 to that level. You read about it, but until you hear it, do you really BELIEVE….?

I will be shooting next year- it looked like way to much fun to miss out on (though Slavex is probably dreamin’ of his mattress right about now…..all with his eyes wide shut…..), with my Norc if I have to, though looking for an Accuracy International AE in 308 seems mighty tempting right now….

Again, a well done to all, especially Mike, the butts party, and the CF/BCRA support people for what looked like a great time for participants (aside from the s***y weather I’m sure you sucked up today…)

I got back a few hours ago and man am I bagged!!!

It was a great shoot in typical B.C. weather, and Mike deserves a HUGE pat on the back for organising, running the match, and getting us great prizes!!:dancingbanana::rockOn:

I want to add special thanks to "Swampy" for loaning me his rifle and ammo when mine went down for the count so I could finish the last three relays and help preserve the great showing Slavex and I had going.:cheers:ALso thanks to Blackcloud for offering use of his stick. That offer was appreciated.:D

There was an increase in shooters this year with quite a few up from the U.S.A, as well as the faithful Alberta Crew that comes out every year. Hopefully this trend will continue for all future matches.

I didn't bring a camera, but I am sure there will be pics showing up from various CGN members who attended.

I am off to go lapse into a coma for the next few hours...............:p
