There will be camping at the range again this year.

Remember that there is no potable water there.

This will be of no use to most of you miscreants as there is no alcohol allowed.

It is the long weekend so lots of campers in the nearby campgrounds so they may be full. Last year there was over a dozen of us staying at the Range. It was a good time. Some people who stayed there went into town for dinners. It is about 25 km from the range to Vedder rd where the restaurants are.

No BBQ at my house this year either. and it looks like I won't even get up there to visit this year either.

There was some flopping going on today. I think next weekend it will be first come first served. Maybe I should be there to set up the relays and keep score. The PoCo TAC Championships:).

Official, I won't even make it up except for maybe Zeroing day. I'm off to Alberta Saturday for a different match.
You guys are going to have a blast. I just need to get the Hotels to someone.

I will arrange the hotels with you. Call me.

Regards the BBQ which is sponsored in part by Highland Rescue (3rd year in a row),

We confirm our numbers to the caterer on Thursday the 23rd so get your entries in now. Entries received after that....well,....there will probably be some coleslaw left.

Y'all have to be up real early to steal a flop spot on me 'n c3pppo :) Actually I won't be there next weekend so there will be a free flop spot if you're early !

Sounds like lots of guys are practicing! Are they actually getting off the bench and shooting from prone kneeling sitting and standing?
My guess is most guys are just shooting groups off the bench and calling that practice!Oh they are in for a eye opening shock!;)

From what my spies tell me and my own observation, there has been a lot more use lately of the too limited spaces for prone shooting. We managed to eke out 4 spaces simultaneously with some creative target placement a couple of weeks ago, and there seems to be regular use of the 2 normal prone positions.

Whether it's all related to the Tac Match is hard to say, but likely.

Every time I have seen "prone" :adult: at Burke mountain, it has been guys practicing for the match. Not many guys get a chance to put a few thousand rounds down range during the year to prepare for the match.

The Island has had good shooters for many years. Unfortunatley only one guy signed up for the spring TAC match in Nanaimo. The Kamloops TAC match was cancelled last weekend:confused:. Life tends to get in the way even for TAC shooters I guess. That is why there are different winners every year IMO. I am glad you can make it this year Longshot.

Some pictures from my end of the match.
