I am releasing this early so everyone can have a look. It is a Draft Copy, however I can't see any changes being made unless someone has a decent arguement that I can take to my Match Commitee. The rifle rules are firm though and won't change.

Immediate expulsion for changing rifles! Come on lets not get too anal, after all it is all meant to be about having fun. Could someone like that go into open class instead of being forcibly removed from the range?

BTW great write up and thanks for taking your time to put the match together - it takes a lot to organize an event like this.

This match is entirely about having fun, for those that want to be gamers move on to another event.
When you arrive and enter the match, we will weigh the rifle, test the triggers etc. and you will get a sticker on your rifle. If your rifle fails during the event you will both use your partners rifle for the duration of the event. If you attempt to do the short range rifle/long range rifle trick or any other cheating the sentry will be at the gate awaiting your arrival to let you out.

That's the problem there aren't too many other events to choose from. If someone wants to shoot two guns they should be allowed to in open class because what does it matter. The idea is to promote shooting sports and encourage as many competitors out to this event as possible. Sometimes in this game I think we are our own worst enemies.

The "one gun" rule has been in effect for a number of years.

This isn't Golf, this Tactical Rifle...........This match is meant to be a Field Conditions type match that contains some Military/Police style shooting. You are not going to be carrying several different rifles around with you in the field to choose from..............

Have you even shot this match in the past, or at least watched it???????

If not, I suggest coming out and watching or competing in the match before complaining about the rules..............

For the "Gamers", there is always IPSC................:p ;) :D

BTW Mike, no "Dots of Doom" this year???????

I hear what you're saying Jess, but the BCRA Provincial Shoot is organized along the lines that appeal to the majority of shooters. If the rules are opened up the lines such as you suggest, I agree that we may attract another shooter or two ... and risk the loss of the 40+ core shooters of the competition.

It's a firm line (I don't say hard, as there is still an open class), but in too many cases we see individuals that want competition catered to them and to hell with the rest (<< not a flame - I've just seen this too many times over the years). If you feel that the golf club approach for Open is a good change, please post this as a clear suggestion to Mike and how it should read. I feel that the rules reflect what the majority of the shooters are interested in - challenging competition in a peer group using essentially the same equipment.

If you're able to set up another shooting competition that attracts this many shooters year after year, please let me know, as I'd be interested in coming out. Match Director is the most thankless job you can find - kudos to Mike for keeping a positive attitude forward going on this!

All I can say is WOW! A LOT of work went into that. Again, hats off to Parker-Hale-Mike as well as those who assist behind the scenes!!!

The course of fire look great, I'm sure it will be great shoot.

See night shoot match #1
"50/50 GOLF ball shoot"

Guess you did not get the memo about the change.

Touche'............:D

We can't cater to everyone, and not everyone will be happy with the rules/stages/etc...............but you have to realise that this match caters to a specific style/discipline of shooting (as does TR, TR-O, & F-Class)...............and has been set up this way for years.

The course of fire is written in the same style as NSCC and CFSAC. Now hopefully it will cut down on the "Mike, Can we(insert absurd question here)?" I plan on getting down to business this year and doing what I'm there for.

Mike, you had a rough match last year due to all the responsibilties and the fact that it was the first match you ran.

This year will be easier on you...................just relax and get in your "bubble".....

To make things easy on yourself. Designate a Non-shooter to field questions at the match, and have him simply go by the Match Course of Fire and equipment list.If it ain't on the list, then it is a no go................

Maybe have a Printed Equipment list of what is allowed & the Tech. requirements ready to hand out to all competitors when they sign .This way they have no excuse as they were handed the info...........

That's on this year's entry form with a signature space "Have you read and understand the rules and Course of Fire for 2008?"

Take it from me Mike, guys will skim over that stuff and still ask questions that are answered there, or complain they didn't know.......and complain when they get busted for an infraction ......I see it and deal with this issue all the time in regards the EE Forum.......... "By applying you have agreed to have read and understood the rules and policies"............ Guess what, there are still a great number of members who violate the EE Forum rules and ask questiones that should have been answered if they did indeed read the rules/policies.............

If you physically hand them the Equipment list/rules and tell them to read it before going on the range then they have NO excuse...........;)

I know we cant carter to everyone. I just had to say that it is a “golf” shoot. I new some one was going to ask about the “golf rule”. so I came up with the golf ball trgs plus that way the shooters will see if they hit the tgs.

mike i should have the clays in 2 weeks and do you care what colour the roofs are painted?

It's up to you, your the lead on the roof projects and other mainland items. When you have a total for clays pm me and I will get a cheque off to you. When you decide on the paint stuff pm me and I will send a cheque for that also.

jesus Ian you are taking on a ton of stuff lately, wife pissed at you yet?

reading those rules makes me think of IPSC, but I am glad to see them spelled out so clearly. Not much room for argument on anything there.
are we still going to try and source new targets for each shooter this year, so all targets can be kept? or is that on the backburner till everything else is running smoothly?
I guess Team666 better get our asses out and do some freakin practice. I better find out what that TRG22 with folder weighs to see if I should even bother picking it up or just get a new green one?????????
