BCRA Tactical Rifle rules and Course of Fire 2008

If I can get one night off of work, which I am trying to do, I'll be in Lethbridge for the IPSC Nationals. if that falls through I'll be at this match.
One thing to think about though. long weekend, ferry travel, lineups, etc. Could make for a very stressful match for the shooters trying to get there.

Already thought of that.

If you come over on the Sunday morn and go back that night, ferry traffic will be easy. I was thinking of starting the match at say 1000 to allow the travellers to get there in time with say 8 hrs of match time.

Planning a match sounds easy when you type it..................

Too bad it never works out that easy.

Mike, Great job on the match this year! It was excellent and a lot of fun to shoot. Good to see that the numbers are up this year. Also very suprised to see that Calagry PD sent a few of their snipers. Those guys can shoot and had nice gear. Hopefully some of the other local PD's might want to send their guys as well.
The prize table was something to behold. Dude, bug me for next year and I'll see if I can get some stuff from work to plunk on the prize table. No Slavex, it will not be cans. Good to see the regulars there. A whole year of no shooting sure showed on my scores. (Thats my excuse for this year) Luckily, this year I have no injuries that require slicing and dicing by the Doc's. I will be practicing so hopefully I can move up a notch or two.... Also a big thanks to those who helped Mike and helped with the set up at the range. Thanks guys, well done!

The prize table is made possible through the generosity of our sponsors and also their recognizing that the participants of this event are a large slice of the Canadian market. I appreciate their contribution and furthermore appreciate it when the participants take the time to phone the sponsors and thank them for their prize, when we work together it's win/win.

I've gotten 3 very nice emails back from some of the sponsors I sent thankyous to. If everyone sent them out I bet our prize table will be even bigger next year.

Swampy- is it that obvious I want a can for my rifle??????? good thing your guys's don't fit. I'd have done a runner!!!!

With your physique I bet even with Swampy's buggered knees he would catch you.;)

I had very much hoped to attend this event (my first) and was right at the last minute handed a 9 week assignment and my one day off a week is sunday.... no fun for me and so had to bail on many of my summer plans..... well i get most of august to lounge around and be a general nusance hehehe

seeing some of the pics of the rifles you folks are sporting is enough to start me on a shoppin trip for my next bolt gun build :D and I'm gonna practice :D and I WILL see you all next year ;) ..... sorry i missed ya Swampy...... give me a yell when yer hittin a range

Ok some pics from the match. For those of you who would like a CD of all the pics, full size (including blurry ones), please PM me your addy and I'll get them out next week. Please remember to show some discretion when posting pics from the cd. If you don't want your pic on the CD general release, you have until next week to PM me with who you were at the match (it might take a bit to get me to figure out who's who).

3 pics of the night shoot, it was pretty much pitch black to the naked eye at this point.

I'm really glad everybody had a good time. That's what this event is all about and it makes it worth the effort to run it. It's good to see some old friends and also meet new ones too.

As with last year I learned about the things I need to change.

The three gun will be moved to the Friday after the zeroing and will be rewritten by a few members of the CF. The move to Friday will also speed up things on the Sunday to get people out of there sooner.

The scoring will be done on an excel spreadsheet in the butts so they will be ready withing 15 minutes of the last round going down range.

The night match will remain but will be changed in the interests of safety.

If anyone has any other suggestions feel free to PM me.

Oh, come over to Nanaimo for the 3rd of August as we are running a small regional match! We will be starting at 1000 to allow the mainlanders to get here in time.
