What a crappy way to end the week. I hope all turns out for the better.

Well, the situation is still pending.
Because of the way this situation came about, there will likely be other firearms considered for reclassification, though.

only STEN I own is a welded up dewat :(

I was planning someday to call the CFC and using the thread on making your own semi auto sten as a guide build myself a legal one to keep that poor welded one company.

But if our frequently banned maker of questionable guns keeps this up I suspect that my plans will be on hold.

I bought a BD-38 open bolt last year and it will NOT be surrendered under any circumstances! Over $2800 after taxes and I may be expected to turn it in for destruction?? Yeah OK

Aren't a few .22 rimfires open bolt?

I wonder how many in Canada, and whether they will be grabbed next.
It seems they go after the rare guns, so not to piss off too many owners at once.

So everything is on hold with the Bd-38 & BD-3008 sales and transfers?

I thought they were officially approved by the RCMP Inspection Branch or whatever a long time ago.

How can they change their position on a firearm?

Has this been done previously?

What a crock!!

Easy they surf CGN
& yes they have done this previously and they will do it again

Believe me they change classification easy enough. I can't believe that I was about to call Marstar about a BD3008. They sure look cool. The funny thing is my wife is still giving me crap about buying a Lever T97( despite the fact I was reimbursed ) I must be attracted to bad guns! It sucks that everything thats politically correct and palatable is about as interesting as a Daisy Red Ryder. The fella that is going to remain nameless is an effing douchebag for trying to take someone else down too!

The motive was simple, he complained that another company had open bolts approved so his should be
John

That's reasonable, but RCMP is clearly over reacted. There are way to show that some open bolt designs are not the same as other open bolt designs.

I personally don't blame the SK business. I would blame people who would transfer blame for one bad deed to others... e.g. person used Mini-14 for bad deed = must ban all Mini-14, etc kind of "logic" because following that logic, the person who suggest it, must have his balls cut off because some criminal used them in crime of rape or something.

This is the most reasonable post in the entire thread.
