bead installation advice ?

A bead can be made with an electric drill, files and some abrasive paper. The drill is used as a little lathe. Hold it in a vise.
Chuck up a scrap of aluminum rod (for silver) or brass. Spin it against a file, to turn down the end to fit the hole. Leave it a bit rough for the adhesive to grab. Using small files shape a bead of the desired size. Polish as desired. Cut it off, polish the top round.
The shank can be threaded with a die, if you wish to go that route.

This is what I’d do, make a friction fit bead so you won’t have to tap the existing hole. Bit of blue loctite or a tight press fit and it’ll never come loose under recoil. Made one for a ramped front sight I modified last year on a shorty 12g barrel, worked great.

There are both press fit and threaded shotgun beads used and available.

My guess is that your gun came with a non threaded, press fit bead and this is how a previous owner made the bead it had on it fit.

Replacing with a press in bead would be less work than cutting threads etc if the hole has not been damaged and you locate the correct size.

Got it done and am happy with it.
Thanks for the input from all of you.

End result is a 128 thou bead that I finished with 1500 grit sandpaper. It is press fit in the barrel with some epoxy added for good measure.

Now I've got to find or make myself an adjustable butt stock adapter to make the gun fit a tall guy.

I was going to suggest you measure the hole, I have some brass beads, but you got her done.
Those shotguns usually had a model # on the bottom of the frame, where the duck is, S 56 Maybe? anything on the barrels ?
I had a adjustable pad that worked fine, but sold a while back. Browning made I think. It came from a gun show table.
How much longer do you need? I uses to have pieces of broken stocks for this, but out of stock now.

Can't find a model number anywhere on the gun but will look again.
Found two same ones online but they also do not have a model number or name listed.

I have a few stocks I could use but also need to bring the gun up a bit (i'm about 6'7")so thinking of a graco style like this:
