I bought an 18" Remington 870 Police Magnum with the factory 2-shot extension, making the mag tube and barrel the same length.

Anyways, it has a bead sight in the front.
I was thinking to get a good 'smith to install a set of Wilson Combat (Scattergun?) ghost ring sights on it.

This is just a fun shotgun, for some crown land blasting or for the range. Maybe some fun crown land clay shooting but if I was into that sport seriously I'd definitely find a different gun to use for it.

So I am thinking - is the GR sight system worth it over the bead?
It seems you can be more accurate with the GR sights, at the expense of quick acquisition that the bead offers.

Your thoughts?

I think the factory bead is all you really need. Nothing will be as quick and its just natural for flying objects. The only advantage I could see for the ghost ring sights would be if you plan on shooting lots of slug loads. Plus Ghost Ring sights are EXPENSIVE and then you have to have them installed unless your pretty handy. Just my opinion, but I would stick with what you got.

I have ghost rings, bead, and iron sights on my various shotguns. I do best with irons, but that is what I grew up with. I am seriously considering a sparc or some other kind of red dot, as my eyes aren't getting any better these days.
