Shot my first blackie two weeks ago and I got to thinking,
I tracked it by the dirt and leaves that it stirred up as it ran into the bush.
There wasn't a peck of blood anywhere until I came within 5-7 of it.
It ran about 35 yards into the bush (chest high grass) after I hit it but no blood.
Seems that every deer or moose I've ever shot blood pours from a nick.
Are bears not bleeders unless you put a cannon through their chest? I hit it with a 165 .308 interbond, had an entry and exit hole and made burger out of the lungs.
I've heard that blackies die easy but again, what about the bleeding :?:
