You need a truck mounted 30mm cannon to kill an internet bear but I've seen plenty of the real ones fall to my Winchester model 100 in 308 Win shooting core-lokt 150 grain factory ammo.
Great thing about the semi is that if the first shot doesn't drop them there's a second third and fourth shot only a trigger pull away.
Very rarely had to take that second shot. Maybe twice in almost 50 years of hunting.
