This is my second year hunting my grandfathers bush lot in Burk's Falls. I was only planing on deer but now I think I'll have to go for a bear. Tried my first taste of bear meat last week and now I find this.
So First after seeing almost 200 shots of that same stupid branch I've now cut it off. Hopefully I'll get more game in my shots. This camera is set in the woods along a game trail entering a field of berries in which I planted a 20 X 30 yd food plot. The plot is directly in front of the headless deer. Less than 2m away from delicious turnips and sugar beets and more. In the field of black berries and raspberries I found at least 6 bear droppings fresh but not warm. I pulled these photos on Sat. I went back Sun with my Mom to show her where on my Grandfathers lot I had placed the food plot. At the end of the field there was a newly shredded Spruce tree. 4-6" Clawmarks on the trunk, Tore off branches, ripped up ground... Methinks Yogi was not pleased with me in his field. Season opens tomorrow. Gotta get me some bait a big basket of berries and maybe some donuts.
Any tips for a novice bear hunter?
