Bear Hunting in ON

Looking for advice and past experiences with bear hunting in ON with a guide.

Good or bad experiences, and any advice you care to offer.

Decided for a hunt in this province rather than travel elsewhere.

What location? Plenty out there and they’re having a rough go with border restrictions.

Prefer the Chapleau, Temagami area and north of there. Closer to home than the Lake of the Woods for example.

Never hunted with them but have stayed at Green Wilderness lodge in Gogama a couple times. Very nice younger couple that own it. Had a great time there.

i have gone to kap river the last 2 spring hunts. come home with a bear both times

I used to work for an outfitter at horseshoe island camp in matachewan. It's run by a member of original family. Great resort. Great fishing and plenty of bears
